I still think its
Fri:Sims
Sat: Freshcorn
Sun: Ramirez/Bond

Weekday starter: Ramirez/Bond/Powell

We wil go into the season with pitching being our biggest ? as well as frankly our backstop defense.
Hard to say pitching is out biggest question mark when you're not sure how you're going to replace the production of three or four of your best hitters.

Because last year's pitching left a lot to be desired, new coach, new players on the mound. Lots of unknowns.

With Earley, you always feel good that the hitting will be there.

This is my guess on how we will start the year

Friday: Sims
Saturday: Freshcorn
Sunday: Nuanez
Weekday: Jarrett Williams

I could definitely see one of the younger guys like Ramirez or Vincent pushing for a weekend role as the season goes on.

I don't think we have the ceiling of last year's offense, but I'm not sure I would go as far as saying they're a big question mark.

It's fine to say we might see a drop off in the top of the order, but I am still confident we will field a very capable offense. We don't need to be as good as last year to still be considered a great offense.

I just want to see some team energy back. For all the hate of Schloss, we had some great team chemistry those years and the last 2 years Earley has not been able to recreate that. Sure we had offense against average or below average pitching but still looked lost at the plate in pressure situations and against higher quality pitching.

There are reasons to be optimistic and personally Nolan Cain coming back is a big one for me, but the question marks are all around and Earley still has a lot to prove.

Last year's team chemistry and energy were good. Just couldn't get the pitching figured out. As for Earley having things to prove, he showed a lot last year with the team. He's still a very young head coach and I believe he is figuring things out and will get better every year.

As far as team energy I would agree. But I think that is more of an artifact of player personalities at the time vs coach set culture. Just my opinion.

I disagree, all three years under Schloss were solid in this category and those teams were more often than not able to rise to the occasion rather than fold when the lights were the brightest. He consistently had similar team chemistry at TCU before us and is doing the same thing in Austin now unfortunately.

Hate the guy all you want, but you can't deny that he is a top end coach in this sport.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Vincent and Prisco get some looks to be the 3rd weekend starter as well

This. Vincent will be right in the middle of it.

Mr. 6.35 ERA with a 1.765 WHIP? I guess if your looking to fill Sdaos spot.

Yeah, same dude that had the best stuff on the team last year. As a freshman.

Those of us that follow closely know that his whole issue was confidence. Not many fish come on this stage and light it up.

Right. Who could forget the team rising to the occasion in the final game of the season in 2024 under his leadership.

Why are you in here riding so hard for Schloss?

Because he's a great coach, sorry if you have trouble admitting that.

So, I guess that is why he has 11 players that went into the portal this year??

Schloss is a program builder for sure. He's not a great relationship guy by his own admission which is why a Nolan Cain type was always top of the list for him. The years between Vitello and leaving for A&M was good but not great at TCU then he had Cain at A&M and tu. If the new guy he poached from Oregon is as good as Cain he'll be fine but if he's not they'll be good but not great until sip runs him out of town.

One can only hope. I know he'll be good in Austin, but as long as he retires without a championship I'll be happy and 2024 will haunt him forever
