Considering he was demoted and Earley had to take over hitting duties wouldn't inspire me to hire him. And there was a noticeable difference in the team's performance when Longley was replaced.

I'll take the Cain trade over Longley.

This is a strange hire for POS unless he's using him to attract a particular recruit or few.

What was the real story on Longley leaving? Was he demoted and didn't like it? Was there something to the conflict of interest with his side business (or maybe A&M was able to use that to get him out)?

I'm sure Longley didn't like being demoted and he had a side business (MARV training). I think it was as simple as Earley took over because it was his job on the line and he's one of the best hitting instructors in the college game.

Longley is a good recruiter. Seems like Schloss felt he needed to find 2 recruiters to replace Cain.

Hopefully Longley has lots of hitting responsibilities as well. That's all I'll say.

There are only two college baseball programs. Texas and Texas A&M. The coaches just cycle between.
