Firing the wrong coach. This is the equivalent of scapegoating coordinators in football.
Yes
but at least it's getting done this year so the firing of the coordinator cannot be used next year.
And pitching was not the reason we lost last night.
No, but it is the reason we weren't a higher seed that could have gotten a much easier regional.
It was pretty obvious that the team started pressing. Knowing you HAVE to score 8-10 runs to win every night takes its toll over the long haul. Good pitching beats good hitting.
If you couldn't tell watching those guys and their ABs the last two games and tell that they were pressing then you don't know baseball.
When you have 2 season-ending injuries before the season really got started to pitchers expected to be studs, another expected stud from the portal not make it to campus because of off-field legal issues, and another guy who was supposed to be a big contributor on the bump turn out to be a head case, and then our ace goes down 3 weeks ago we were cooked. The 34-man roster really kills pitching depth. We don't see what the freshmen arms do in practice but the 2025 class had some big-time arms that didn't show up like expected, but maybe the plan was for them to RS and develop all along because we were looking good before the injuries hit.
Tarpon, you WAY overestimate the IQ of most posters on the baseball board.
You should just read this board for pure amusement .
