Yes

but at least it's getting done this year so the firing of the coordinator cannot be used next year.

And pitching was not the reason we lost last night.

No, but it is the reason we weren't a higher seed that could have gotten a much easier regional.

It was pretty obvious that the team started pressing. Knowing you HAVE to score 8-10 runs to win every night takes its toll over the long haul. Good pitching beats good hitting.

If you couldn't tell watching those guys and their ABs the last two games and tell that they were pressing then you don't know baseball.

When you have 2 season-ending injuries before the season really got started to pitchers expected to be studs, another expected stud from the portal not make it to campus because of off-field legal issues, and another guy who was supposed to be a big contributor on the bump turn out to be a head case, and then our ace goes down 3 weeks ago we were cooked. The 34-man roster really kills pitching depth. We don't see what the freshmen arms do in practice but the 2025 class had some big-time arms that didn't show up like expected, but maybe the plan was for them to RS and develop all along because we were looking good before the injuries hit.

Tarpon, you WAY overestimate the IQ of most posters on the baseball board.

You should just read this board for pure amusement .

Jason was just a bad hire - hindsight 20/20. Couldn't hack it as a head coach, so took golden parachute to be a pitching coach here. Minimum local ties I believe.

Guys, just stick with good pitching typically beats good hitting.

The whole they pressed bc of our pitching is weak. Childress teams never had great hitting but bc he knew how to coach pitchers they did well. Or should they have pressed and not done well bc we were average in hitting by your statements. Guess they did not get the memo.

That would actually be a good hire. It's the best suggestion that someone has made so far imo.
There are a few under the radar guys I've seen floated some being OK some would be… well I wouldn't be excited about them.

It's pathetic. The fatigue is real. These are very angry, unhappy people. I can't imagine being that miserable in my life. They whine about coaches and ADs not wanting to win which is pure stupidity. If they think our players and those other players knocked out this weekend aren't heartbroken they're just ignorant.

Yes, A national championship is the goal and someday I hope we get it one day, we came damn close in 2024, but given that since 1947 there have only been 78 teams to get it. I don't think they really understand the odds every year. I mean for ****s sake UCLA was ranked number one basically in the entire year and loses to St. Mary's. Florida is knocked off by Troy.

Baseball is baseball, man.

And of course I want to win too, but damn if I don't love my Aggie baseball. It's a shame so many people have Become such *******s about that and can't seem to enjoy the simple things in life.

I think a lot of people were looking straight ahead with 20/20 at that time. Definite head scratcher that seemed to be a high risk, low reward choice to many people paying attention. Literally nothing relating to pitching the last 2 years has been a surprise, even accounting for forced optimism on that side of the team.

My point was only that their coach has skins on the wall so losing a home regional sucks for them but there isn't one UCLA fan saying they need to fire their coach.

Our coach on the other hand has proven absolutely nothing.

Sorry for the exaggeration that honestly wasnt too much of an exaggeration at the end of the day. I watched every game and the few games we won against scrub teams were shocking to watch. So yes, they won some games early on, but when watching them could you honestly say it was a good team on the field? The quality of play WAS obvious from game 1. Yes, they won a little bit at the beginning, but it was clear as day that it was a horribly coached team and unrecognizable from the previous year, and the few wins early on felt more like luck than that they were earned. And it only got worse from there once we had to play real opponents. So while it wasnt yet a crash, it felt like we were leaning over the edge of a cliff from day one, hoping it was just some kinks that needed ironing out, as that's relatively normal early in the season. But instead it was an indicator of what the team actually was under Earley. Just a poorly coached team with no identity.

We will see. Odds are it's another weak choice. But hopefully Earley knows he'll be fired next season if he doesn't hire someone who can recruit 100x better than Earley has recruited pitchers so far.

I could be wrong, but I believe Trev wanted the pitching coach to have head coach experience so he could help Earley out with advice. Both Earley getting the job and Kelly joining his staff was announced the same day

I don't think Earley handpicked Kelly the way he is going to be responsible for this next hire.
Yeah, you're wrong. That was Earley's idea. Word-for-word.

Baseball is a high variance sport when competition is fairly equal. We had the 2nd best offense in the country for a full season, but unfortunately underperformed when it mattered most for 2 games. Some people take that to mean our hitting coach sucks, I don't. It is the coaches fault for hiring the wrong guy as pitching coach, but hopefully it gets fixed.

How do you think they felt, Einstein?

You're really gonna try to put that all on the coaching? We had a large part of the same team that went to the World Series before. There were a lot of issues.

And then we saw regional this year.

And last I checked, Schlossbutt has never won a national championship either. They got knocked out by UTSA last year. this year, the NCAA ensured that they would get past the regional.

Hey, I'd rather support my Aggies through thick and thin and be so-called sunshine pumper, than be a miserable sod who thinks the success or failure of Aggie baseball has some personal benefit to him.

And yes, I don't like it when they play bad either and yes, I don't like it when we lose, but I don't throw a tantrum or hold my breath till I turn blue like some of you.

Every time we have a bad game, you should see the bull**** that comes out on these threads. Of course, many times we turn it around and win, but it doesn't prevent people from losing their **** throughout.

Believe it or not, you can be disappointed in a loss or bad play without calling our players *******s or the coaches idiots are wanting people fired every five seconds.

And some of them only come then because they like to whine and have self pity and anger. It's like they're happier when they're upset. Mental. I shudder to think what their real lives are like if this is what upsets them so much. They clearly have had much adversity.

When we do win a national championship, and we will. I hope you guys get whatever validation is you think you're going to get then. But I think you'll find that as happy of a time as it will be it isn't going to change your life in one ****ing way.

Football is up next, but looking forward to February 2027 when we start this merry-go-round all again.

Y'all have a good day and try to be happier. I promise you in the long run. It's much better to live your life positively than negatively and always expect the worst.
