Here is something that happened in a 10U game the other night.
High school kid umpires, who struggled all night and the scorekeeper wasn't much better.
The batter sees a few pitches, and umpire calls full count, then ball 4. Batter goes to first. Next pitch the kids stole 2nd, and a few pitches later the batter singles and the run scores.
The coach calls time and states that the original batter (the one who stole and scored) actually only had 3 balls thrown to him not 4 balls.
After a long discussion the umpires rules the base runner back to the plate and to complete his AB.
My stance was, once 1 pitch is thrown to the next batter any appeal is done. I stated for an example if an incorrect batter bats in the wrong order, the other team doesn't recognize it and the correct batter comes up next and sees at least one pitch, the lineup is basically reset and nothing can bet done.
Has anyone had experience with this or a correct ruling on this?
