I absolutely don't. Somebody's gotta draw a line in the sand and say this game's going to be played with a certain level of sportsmanship. Celebrations are fine. "Look at me" peacocking needs to go the way of the dodo bird. It's turning off a lot of pure baseball fans. Nothing wrong with a simple little bat flip. But when everybody thinks they've gotta one-up Fernando Tatis, I don't care for it

He could have walked like a peacock all the way around the bases and wouldn't have been thrown out. He was ejected but in the subjective opinion of the ump the bat flip was towards the dugout, which you simply cannot do. I don't think that part was intentional but that doesn't matter one bit as far as whether to apply the rule or not.

He was NOT ejected for the bat toss. It was something he must have said or done in the aftermath, when the umpires were addressing both dugouts well after he'd returned to the dugout. That's an important distinction to realize. He absolutely brought it upon himself.
