is it a hot take that LSU is not as good as they are ranked? is it to early to tell? what do yall think???

considering they almost lost a game to Milwaukee and Dartmouth I feel they aren't that good.

Even though the first two losses to scrubs weren't enough to move LSU down from the No. 2 ranking you have to think two more bad losses this week (so far) might be enough to do the trick.
Losses to McNeese, Northeastern, UL-Lafayette, and Sac. State - 3 of which were home games. 25% of the games they've played have been losses to those guys.
It's fun no matter how I phrase it.

They're going to take quite a tumble after losing 3 games this week (hopefully 4 after tomorrow)

If LSU isn't out of the Top 5 next batch of rankings, I say we riot. Hell, even Top 8

Dropped the series with Sac. State with the Hornets taking the finale in Baton Rouge 5-1.
The 5 bad losses (4 at home) in their first 17 games (no good wins) were enough to secure the Tigers the No. 13 spot in the most recent D-1 poll.

Is it really that big of a deal? Did you expect them to go from number 2 to unranked in one week?

We're just about 1/3 of the way through the regular season and only one team has more losses and less wins than LSU in the 16 team SEC, and all of LSU's losses are of the bad variety.
The SEC seems to have sorted out where LSU is in their standings based on season results to date.

I guess the polls are a little more resistant to what's transpired on the field thus far.

David needs to press Kendall on LSU's ranking . I know they will get things figured out , at some point, but they have no business at 13 .

I guess not.
In 2025 in the March 10 poll A&M had dropped to No. 21 at 9-6 (including losses to tourney teams Ok. State, Cal-Poly, UTSA, and Arizona vs. LSU's 5 losses to bottom feeders) from No. 2 on Feb. 24, but A&M's losses were spaced over two weeks rather than 4 WTF losses in one week.

By doing it almost all in one week instead of two LSU was able to pull off losing to much worse competition than A&M in 2025 while dropping 8 spots less.
