Unreal. Yes there have been a few HBPs. But that stat is unreal, regardless of the competition. I love it. The number of walks will (obviously) go up. But the big question is whether that high of a strike rate will result in sec teams ambushing our pitchers early. Regardless, congrats to Jason Kelly and the staff. They have been great thus far

They've filled it up for sure. They got hit around a little more last week but seemed sharper this week.

I'd argue Sims has probably earned a move up in the rotation.

You're talking about the only guy to allow an earned run the whole weekend?!?

All jokes aside, Sims has been very impressive to start off this year. Gotta feel great about every single pitcher we saw this weekend. We should be able to steal a lot of Sunday games with whoever is starting there.

HBP has it's usefulness if you consistently pitch inside. You may fill up the strike zone, but hitters cannot get very comfortable with a staff that's not afraid to come inside and hit you. HBPs will happen if you go inside hard. The intent is not to hit the guy, but you can't be afraid to get in there or you will leave cookies over the middle of the plate. HBP opens up the plate the rest of the game and leaves the hitters uncomfortable.

I didn't see any of the games and I have no idea if that's the case. Just speaking on general pitching philosophy.

29 innings this weekend for our pitching staff. 0 walks, 0 hit batters. I can't remember that ever happening regardless of competition.

Would love to see us work on more depth.
