Great job by the bullpen tonight too. Both Darden and Stewart inherited runners at first base with no outs and got out of the inning unscathed.

Didn't agree with Stewart but it worked. Let's hope we only have great outcomes for the rest of the season

You didn't agree with the decision to bring him in? Okay....but he faced three batters, struck out the first one who was trying to bunt and then got two easy ground ball outs. Besides one wild pitch...what else would you want?

Yes, I thought there could've been a better time. It worked. He worked. Im not coach and am very happy it worked well. I won't shame the decision and instead I'll shame myself. It was a good choice and it worked! Just wasnt what I would have done

Fair enough, but if he is your closer this year, when do you bring him in? He hasn't seen action in any of our first four blowout wins, so if you are scared he's not ready to come in vs Penn in a tie game then that doesn't show much confidence in the kid.

Not sure how it was scored, but in the real world that's called and error.

If the fielder doesn't touch the ball at all it is not an error. Even pop ups that fall between two players staring at each other are not scored an error.

According to the Texas A&M Athletics website, the walk-off and winning play was scored as " KELLNER doubled to center field, RBI (0-0); FARR scored."

I don't care how it was scored, he should have caught that ball. Period. I'm glad he didn't but that doesn't change things. As with everything else in this world, scoring has gotten soft too.

Line drives right at an outfielder can be incredibly difficult to read.

It has always been scored that way. Why is this so important to you?

Boston Kellner will be my hero replacement for Jeff Kent's son Kaeden

Agreed. A misplayed fly ball (even lost in the lights or in the sun) that falls untouched has always been ruled a hit since the beginning of baseball. And last night's ball was smoked by Kellner, directly at CF which can be a difficult read. The CF took one bad step and paid for it.

I would much rather him start out in a pressure cooker situation against Penn… then wait to put him in a situation where there is no pressure and he struggles. For one it shows trust and two, struggles in a no pressure situation can get in someone's head and become a mental dagger.

That wasn't a "fly" ball though.

Well, technically it was a mental error. But as far as being scored in baseball it was a RBI double.

Look at my next to last sentence.

I was making the point that even easier balls that get misplayed are called hits.

Didn't even know we had a new guy until Friday night as I went back and forth between radio and TV during supper. This pretty cool. And Giovanni is really talented. I was impressed!

I've listened to at least part of all the weekend games so far. Have really enjoyed him and Brauny in the booth. Kid's gonna be good.

Giovani will be a national PBP announcer for some network or The Voice Of some MLB or power conference NCAA school before he's done.

On Friday night I believe he mentioned he was filling in because Andrew was in Oklahoma for the basketball game (or somewhere else). I'm guessing we'll get a mix of him and Monaco through the season.
