LOL at Brauny focusing on exit velocity for outs
Also if I hear "if this was a warm southern wind at Olsen that ball would be out" I'll lose it

MLB puts on an 8 team tournament every year on opening weekend at the spring training stadiums around Phoenix. I've been to some cold and really cold opening weekends in CS. Would we ever consider playing 3 games in temperatures almost guaranteed to be in the 60's and maybe up to 80?

I'm hoping San Antonio gets a college tournament put together when they build the Missions new stadium downtown. Probably wishful thinking, but we'll see.

I was hoping at least two of Nico Partida, Jorian Wilson and Boston Kellner would contribute - happy to hear that Hunter Vincent may as well.

I don't know why we never participate in tournaments outside of Texas. Could be the cost, or that we don't want to give up any more home dates, or maybe we just don't get invited.
I remember back in the late '80s and early '90s, we played in tournaments in the old Minneapolis Metrodome, the New Orleans Superdome, at South Alabama, and in Shreveport. I think we even played a tourney in the valley hosted by UT-Pan Am (now called UT-RGV). I get that the landscape of college baseball has changed over the years, but I miss the opportunity to make road trips to these places as well as weekend series at places like Pepperdine.

going back several posts...
hopefully the infatuation with exit velocity is winding down
especially since opponents are allowed to scout a hitter's tendencies (announcers seem to forget this)
as Dusty Baker once said: "I don't care about exit velocity -- I care about exit hits"

You do realize a higher exit velocity directly correlates to more hits.

It'll be the coldest spot in college station by at least 10 degrees
Nailed it! The 5 error game against OSU is when I thought the wheels would probably come off last year.greg.w.h said:
Honest thoughts: I don't have BAS and we knew at Daikan how this year was likely to end. Go to Globe Life and find out!

And based on experience and pedigree:
Pennington >> Fox
Earley > Longley
And hopefully Earley year 2 > Earley year 1
