That critical and very avoidable mistake probably just cost Tech a natty.

It's actually worse than that though. First base was not open when they started the intentional walk. The girl on 1st took second on the second pitch of the at bat.

So Tech allowed the winning run to move to second on purpose. And then threw a ball over the plate on 3-0.

Basically, they did everything wrong to lose the game.

Hindsight is 20-20 but they should have pitched to Atwood. Prior to that at bat she did not have a hit in the World Series. Over thinking by the head coach it appears.

Texas had 4 errors, including on the easy thrown out at 2nd where obstruction was called because Goode didn't make sure she was out of the base path before she planted and then caught the ball (while waiting for the runner to get close enough to tag).

That led to Tech's only run. I'd say Texas had the edge on unforced errors.
