My expectations given resources, NIL and recent success Schloss had
9/10 regionals (you should host a majority of them)
5/10 super regionals
3+ trips to Omaha

If you look at the decade of 2010-2019 which we'd say was a fairly decent decade but didn't meet full expectations given Childress was relieved of his duties

2 trips to Omaha

We're badly handicapped for 2026, with our AD having completely undermined our HC. We need experienced assistants, and I don't see why a good one would want to join Earley's staff. It's a sinking ship.

Beyond 2026, who knows? Not sure who our coach will be. Maybe we'll hire a big name and get serious about this $80 million renovation? Maybe Earley will prove me wrong and make a run in Omaha next year?

My expectations are that we should make a regional 14 times in 15 years
Should host a regional 3 out of 4 years
Should go to a Super Regional 3 out of 5 years
Should be in Omaha 2 out of 5 years

The coaching staff did it to themselves.

Reasonable given the amount of talent available in the Houston metro area alone.

But it's only reasonable if you have an athletic department, coaching staff, and team focused only on winning.

The athletic director builds the organization and business model to supply the funds necessary to build the facilities needed to attract coaches and players, and hiring a coach with the capabilities and drive to win.

No expectations, no disappointments.

Players who can hit pitches that are outside of the strike zone.

Just say "No" to the Schloss approach to hitting.

8 regional hosts
7 super regionals
6 CWS trips

To actually live up to their expectations.

This was more or less the expectation I drew out in my head as soon as I read the title.

we should be a consistent top 10 program year in year out. we do that consistently enough and we will get the end results we want.

what that means for the SEC is top 4 to 5 each year which puts us in the hunt for hosting and ultimately making it to omaha.

Hitters swinging at pitches in the strike zone would help. The amount of Ks looking at the ball hurt my tummy

You can't expect anything in life for 10 years. Too many variables

Let your brain rest and we'll see what happens next year.

It all starts over anyway each year.

Expectations should always be high. Of your goals aren't lofty, your results won't be lofty.

Yall are lookin through y'all's maroon glasses for sure.

As much as I want this to happen, we kept the same coach who had a less than average season and lost a bunch of talent.

How does retaining a coach undermining him? Kelly has a ton of experience. Just say, I hate we kept Earley and leave it at that.

Alberts just gave another pitch against us by not making that decision earlier. On the staff front it paints a clear picture of how low Earley & thus his assistants job security really is next year.

(A) I agree with you. However...

(B) In the era of the transfer portal and NIL is this even a consideration any more?

Used to be you didn't want to be "trapped" at a school if your coach left. Now you can leave if you don't like that they use plastic straws in the cafeteria.

I'm sure this will be used be other staff, but given the relative lack of experience from our staff I think someone similar probably already is. Not sure it's that big of a deal at this point.

That's why I stated it depends on the coach. The 3 good years were all the same coach.

With our present coach, have zero expectations. Once we have a new one, expectations will be raised.

I sure as hell hope we "shopped around" for more than a week....we knew he was unqualified last June.

Hosting regionals is the key. You host regionals on a regular basis,you are in position to compete for anything. Top eight, even better.

This program should host regionals no fewer than eight out of 10 years.

Making a regional is nothing. A program like A&M should sleepwalk to regional, but that is not enough. You need to play in college Station in June.

Take it from there, and good things happen

The basis for my expectation is looking at Arkansas. There's not much reason for them to be a better program than we are.

Yes. You could shoot higher in theory, but no one could complain about emulating what DVH has done, short of finishing the job at Omaha (thanks to Carson Shaddy).

Prepare to be disappointed.

Our expectations should be exactly what we got out of Schlossnagle. He showed it's actually possible to win here if you're the right coach with the right focus and determination. Our fanbase should expect this and be unrelenting when we fall short.

What do you mean by "fall short?" Is the season t.u. had this season falling short? Was the sippie simply being "unrelenting" by not bothering to show up to loser's bracket games and leaving early last night? What about the past few for DVH at Arkansas before this one? O'Connor at UVa this year?

I'm all for high expectations and POS certainly set a high bar in his three seasons at Olsen but even the finest coaches have seasons that disappoint. So exactly when should a fan base become "unrelenting" and whatever do you even mean by this?

Once the new player facility is complete we should have top line player facilities, NIL, and fan support that's up there with about 10-15 other places.

The tournament is such a crapshoot so a set number of CWS trips is tough, but we should definitely be hosting at least every other year.
