Replacing coach Fox

Now that coach Fox has been fired does Earley have to replace him on a one for one basis? Earley needs someone with more experience to be a bench coach. Troy Tulowitzki works at tu for $200K a year.

My bigger concern is finding a new hitting coach.

I've got some bad news for you. The guy that coached the hitters from the middle of the season on, was just given the vote of confidence from Trev.

But why did it take him a disaster of a season to figure out he should run it? And if he's running hitting, then why are we paying a "hitting coach"?

I'd say the guy to replace Fox would be someone who has great experience running defense but then has some chops as well in offense & recruiting.

Ty Blankmeyer - Vandy would be a homerun hire. Doubt we could pull him though but your looking for someone similar

Fired a coach, but we didn't get rid of the problem. Waste of time.

I've never heard Earley say he took over hitting during the season. I've heard him say that he and Longley were doing it together and that he worked with certain hitters and Longley others.

Not very successfully. Our batting averages continued to drop precipitously from that point.
