Ok, I simply can't justify a sub .500 team making it over a 5-10 teams with better resumes.
There are always going to be these corner cases in the field of 64. It's unsolvable, hence the constant pressure to expand to 68 or 72 or whatever.

If you want in the tournament, be better, don't be on the bubble, and don't leave it to the committee. I think they do a pretty reasonable job most years. There are a couple head-scratchers every now and then yes but overall they've been pretty good.

I love conference tournaments and I don't want them to go away.

baseball with everything on the line is just so fun.
Like the TCU v Arizona game (which I am now convinced had no bearing on us hosting or not which is bullsh) ....even though we lost, every freakin second of that game was amazing.

Roons advocates for a 64 team field and I dont love it, but I get his point.
But you just admitted there was nothing on the line... Winning or losing that game meant nothing.

And for small conferences where you had teams that won 20+ conference games over the course of 3 months... And then you have a team that had a good four DAYS and they keep the conference champ out?? Unacceptable.

What if the top 12 teams in the SEC pitched backups all conference tourney (many did) and Mizzou at 3-27 made the tourney? It would be a travesty. And it's what happens in small conferences unfortunately.

Either way it's just talking to the wind because it'll never go away.

2 years ago it might have meant something. This year it seems like it didn't.
The committee is a fickle fickle political animal.
The benchmarks are different every year and every year we don't know until around this time of the day on this day.

Fudge guys, I can handle some contrarian responses if you could back them up. But there's only one way you can counter this post of mine. The sips have to be paired with a SEC school in a SR.

Texas had series losses to Arkansas and Florida.

Arkansas had series losses to Georgia, *A&M*, Florida and LSU.

*A&M was not close to making the postseason. They lost at home.

The committee didn't choose them. They were an autobid.

They made it over 250 teams with better resumes.

We're all grumpy because we're not in... How do you think Oral Roberts feels? They were 21-9 and 37-21 overall, finishing 7 games ahead of NDSU in conference and they're not in the NCAA tourney.

What about Kentucky? Lost in the first round to Ou (who also got picked)

Im sorry… NDSU went 20-32? You put them in the three seeds regional. They shouldn't even make it at all…

https://gobison.com/sports/baseball/schedule/2025

This is there schedule, in case you don't wanna click the link I will tell you…

#21 DBU: Swept
Lamar: Swept(2 games)
UTRGV: 1-1 (2 games)
#20 Alabama: swept
#2 LSU: got run ruled in both game(2)
Tulane:1-2
Oral Robert's: 2-1
Oklahoma State: lost
North Colorado?: 2-1
South Dakota state: 2-0
Omaha: 1-2
Midweek Creighton: won (3-2)
St.Thomas: 2-1
Midweek Minnesota: Loss
Oral Roberts: 1-2
Fargo Morehead?: lost?
St.Thomas: got swept
Omaha: one game: lost

You take this over a team that beat…
#3 Arkansas in a series
#6 LSU in a series( then lost 4-4 in a sec tournament game)
#4 Auburn (SEC tournament)
#14 Tennessee in a series
Lost in the quarterfinals in the Sec tournament…

When you put it like that, it makes it sound like the commute was drunk or something…

Fun to be drunk on a Monday

*A&M was not close to making the postseason. They lost at home.

That poster thinks that the committee loved Texas so much that they made sure to match Texas in SR with a non-SEC team.

Never mind that UCLA is better than some of the SEC teams in the field.

I'm not going to spend time arguing every team that got in with you.

We didn't earn it. It sucks and it stings but it's truth.

Kentucky finished 12 spots higher than us in the RPI.

Let this sink in... We lost FIVE Q4 games this year. Five.

This is how I felt the last time we didn't get in.
I wasn't ever mad that we didn't get in...we didn't do enough to earn it. Flat out.

There were bubble teams that got in that I thought didn't deserve it.

(not autobid teams. Those teams looked at the path, said this is our last shot, and then did what they had to do)

Yup. There are teams that got in that I don't feel deserved it but I don't think they took "our" spot.

I've always thought it was dumb for the committee to announce first four out tbh,

"We were thinking about you but decide F it, we don't like you enough"

I'm going to have to go watch the d1 reaction show. Fitt is going to explode that UConn was left out.

Guess they learned an important lesson... Don't lose to Mizzou.

Kudos to the AD at SE Louisiana. He's the committee chair, but his team doesn't make the field (in the first four out). Little different from last year where Florida made the field with their AD as chair.

I assume it helps with the paranoia to at least know who you were being compared to. That's about it.

I was pretty shocked that Kentucky wasn't one of the final 4 in. Personally I would have had them first 4 out.

I know. Really. Is it supposed to make a team and a fanbase feel better that they rank highest on the list of teams that didn't make the cut? Please.

It's a mean thing to do.

I wonder how much the backlash about last year's obvious biases played into that.

Big12 records:

Arizona State 18-12
Kansas State 17-13
Oklahoma State 15-12

They had 10, 11, and 11 losses each in pre-conference.

Wonder if they got better, or if the Big12 sucks…?
