You mean 2027 after we have missed regionals 3 years in a row. There are a lot of BMA's who think Earley is a really nice stand up guy. We aren't very quick to learn in our athletic department.

This team fought hard intermittently during the season. Other times, 3/4 of Missouri weekend, they barely showed up. And in the first third of the season, they spent a lot more of the time as no shows than fighting hard.

To answer the OP question, in a couple years when we finally realize our program is going backwards and light years behind sip, LSU, Tenn etc and we have missed out on all of the hot coaching candidates by one year.

Why would KR post this on X if Earley is certain to return? Is it merely click bait?

Because you have an opportunity to make a massive upgrade? Same reason Texas went from a guy who was having success to hire a guy who was having more success.

I am sure Earley is a great guy...he's just not a good coach. All the confusion and mind numbingly questionable in game decisions throughout the season including last night.
Never have seen that before.
Managing your job like this in the private sector gets you fired every damn time....even if you have a couple of decades of experience...more so if you're a rookie. You get reassigned or punted.

Pierce had a better run in 8 years than any coach in the history of our program other then Schloss. We put our coaches on the outfield wall they fire theirs with higher expectations

No one's arguing Schloss is not a great coach. Pierce was average. Did good in an average Big 12. Always avoided SEC teams in regionals and even super regionals to an extent to get to Omaha where of course he lost to SEC teams.

He's kind of like what Kash did in the Big 12 and anverage against the SEC.

So like I said, they were not great the past 20 years.

Schloss is a great coach so we shall see if he can do better there than he did here. TBD

It amazes me how many guys are asking why do you think earley is not coming back.

Well clue one (and this is a big one) is that, maybe the college baseball news guy is saying he is not coming back. This guy is also a former student who very likely has the connections to know his status (more so than anyone posting on these threads outside of staff I bet).

I am not sure why people think he would just be making this up. He has also been consistent. I remember him tweeting about earley's job before the mid conference play win streak (you know after the horrible non-conference and 1-9 conference start).

The second clue (at least to me) is that texags staff is mum. Yeah they don't comment but they also will imply someone is safe and not allow multiple threads speculating on coach's job stay active, unless we are at the end.

But yes, the earley is not coming back crowd is just making **** up and throwing it against the wall.

Our team "fought" alright. We fought like Glass effing Joe.

Earley is done and we'll make a big hire. The money is there and always will be. Baseball is too important to A&M

This whole Kash feasted on weak big 12 pitching to explain away his season is weird to me when we have Wyatt Henseler on our roster hitting like .320 and Hayden Schott his like .330 last year

Nah, I'm good with myself and my comment. Sips fired a coach that had taken them to 3 CWS (and recently). That wasn't good enough so they went and hired someone that gave them a better shot at winning a title. We are probably going to keep a coach that managed the most disappointing season of Aggie baseball and maybe the worst overall. That's not self loathing. Its fact.

The problem was keeping Earley at this time boils down to this simple reality:

It is highly unlikely that we could do much worse in CONFERENCE than he did this year. So even the most tepid improvement next year will be seen as a complete turnaround and win for the program and we will keep this albatross on our neck for another year.
