An interesting character. He was given command of the calvary by Sam Houston at the battle of San Jacinto after having been promoted from private to colonel the day before for rescuing two surrounded Texans. He repaid Houston by using the worst slur of the time against him a few years later while campaigning against him for the presidency of Texas. He called Houston an Indian lover.

I guess I know a little more about Lamar than the average Texan as I was named for him, indirectly. My middle name came from Lamar Consolidated HS which both my parents attended.

Poor Mizzou. I almost feel sorry for them. In return, I think we should run-rule them all three games this weekend just to limit their exposure to us meanies at Olsen.

Lamar has now surrendered 15 walks through six and a third. This is painful to watch.

I know we discussed him last year… it still surprises me how fast his hands are. Has he put on a little more weight this year? He's listed at 295 on the '25 roster.
