Rudis is a great young man, but he is a midweek level pitcher. Not the dude throwing the most important pitches of an SEC game.

Rudis is the guy you pitch on weekends with a lead or when there's some outs to make sure he's on NOT the guy you bring in during the 9th in a tied SEC game. He can get you through big innings, but if his location is off he's going to get shelled. Love the guy, expect to see a lot more of him this season, but that's not the situation for him imo.

I disagree. When Rudis is on he is a long reliever not a closer. He throws strikes when most of our other relievers have struggled to do so for any length of time. Don't blame Rudis for a rookie coach's misuse of his skill set.

My Point is that Earley showing some serious lack of judgement right there…..unfortunately this is not the only game he got too cute with ill advised late pitching changes

I have not yet been able to watch Friday's game so I can not judge if the pitching change was sound or not but I do know many here did not like the fact that Rudis was used as a bridge pitcher when those that followed him out of the pen went on to lose game earlier this season.
