I don't think any rational person here is blaming the players; they've come a long way since their early season slump. It's 100% on the coach for his terrible decisions during the game and the lack of putting together a half-decent BP.Bondag said:

Please share your formula for accountability. And then go ahead and share examples from your life where it actually worked also in detail. Otherwise, you need to quit preening to the other internet tough guys.TAMUallen said:Ag1188 said:
Will the reporters ask coach the tough questions tonight? Including the reporters associated with TexAgs? Specifically pinch-hitting with Bear when any batter could have Pinch-Hit, and obviously the pitching change disaster.
Aggie reporters don't bite the hand that feeds them.
We need to stop being nice good Aggies and instead hold coaches accountable when things dont go right. They aren't your friends and they aren't people to cozy up next to especially after they ditch our team for a hated rival.

The problem with a lot of you guys is it's one game, and potentially a bad move. Tonight wasn't great. But let's wait and see the full body of work for Earley before making a final judgment. It's confirmation bias otherwise. And why a lot of you should t be running an athletic department.
I'm interested to see what will happen after this.
If Earley can learn quickly and adjust, there's still hope.

The team without those players should not be 10-7. The team without those players should still be a top 15 team. We aren't even going to make a regional at this pace. That's not an injury issue it's a coaching issue man. The product on the field is not acceptable with the level of talent on the team even with the injuries.

This is not an injury problem, and you are lying to yourself if you believe it is. Henseler, Kash, LaViolette, Kent, 2 talented freshman, and a veteran catcher is enough pieces to have a better offense than this. Way too much on the roster outside of Schott, Grahovac, & Sorrell to be this bad. Not to mention all the talented sophomore pitchers that don't seem to have developed much. This is a coaching issue all around.
Ya, it's very much an injury problem. Like huge problem. We lost the SEC freshmen or the year. We lost one of the biggest up and coming players (hopefully he can come back soon) and a huge arm (leaving Sdao out of this yet there is another guy). You don't lose that and expect to be the #1 team. You're lying to yourself if you think otherwise. Those were massive blows. It's just reality. It sucks. But it is what it is.

The pitching changes were not well executed. I don't know if that's on Kelly or Earley. I would have left Jackson in.
I don't like how it ended but some of y'all are acting like we just got shut out and run ruled at home. Losing ****ing sucks but let's not act like we weren't in it the whole time.

If this team was truly only 2 offensive players and a reliever away from being the number one team then we wouldn't be 10-7 without them. No one is mad that this team has lost games, we are mad at how many we have lost and also how poorly we have played even in many of the victories
If we were just slumping against SEC competition, I'd give this to you. But there's no excuse for the performance we've had to date against the competition faced.Capitol Ag said:Fat Bottom Squirrels said:
This is not turning around this season. What an absolute waste of the best talent we've ever had on campus.
You seem to forget how banged up this team is. 3 of those "best talented" guys are out. 2 potentially for the year. This ISN'T and never was the #1 team in college baseball. That was a 100% healthy version of this team. This one has younger guys filling big holes and would have never been given that #1 ranking if it had been known. Im getting tired of this narrative that this team is a failure when they aren't actually, literally, the team we thought we would have. Losing the 2 bats and the arm we thought we would have is a massive deal. Think of it like losing half of your OL or more and maybe a few skills guys in football. This isn't that "#1 team". And that's not to mention Sdao. People, this is a different team. Get used to that now. Sure, if Earley or Kelly deserve to be criticized tonight for a poor coaching decision, fine! Hopefully they learn from it and go on. This team can win the next 2.

Get your head out of your ass. We shouldn't lose to teams like Cal Poly, Texas State, UTSA, or NM State, injuries or not.
We are almost dead last in LEAGUE for offensive stats.
That's not injuries, my dude, that's a dumpster fire of a program with a greenhorn in the dugout. And he just somehow coached his way into losing his SEC opener with some extremely questionable bull pen changes.
We got played, and this is going to be a very painful season.

It's baseball. Ya, 2 guys could be huge. If tends to be contagious in the dugout. A few guys get hot and everyone plays better. Ya, 2 guys with those bats are a big deal.
Care to expand on what exactly is not a dumpster fire at this point? How can you look 10-8 square in the face against the level of competition and pull rays of sunshine out of your backside? Really think its an overstatement? I'll hand up and listen.Capitol Ag said:BadMoonRisin said:Capitol Ag said:Killzone3abc said:

Here's a clue, Einstein. We are 10-8. That is not good.

This is probably the first game I blame on coaching. Horrible calls with switching hot pitchers in the 9th. This not the MLB
Also just because I did not get to say it here yet, umpire sucked (as usual but more so tonight). Neither team knew where the strike zone is, but we were insulted more.
I watched this a few minutes ago and it appeared to me as though he didn't want to admit he was wrong, and it sure as hell looked like that was the last place he wanted to be after the game.Ag1188 said:It does not seem like Earley understands he made a mistake on the pitching changes yet. Yep. Last year we were chomping at the bit and typically started to put up crooked numbers once they got to the pen. Rarely if ever have we done that this year.W said:
another continuing trend...
the Ags' opponent brings in a relief pitcher in the 6th or 7th inning...and that guy finishes the game

How can a coach already appear to have too much ego to admit he made a mistake in judgment when he has no skins on the wall to gain an ego from?
