He stepped up his game in Omaha last year and it has totally carried over to this season.

I agree. Had to raise my eyebrows on the game thread to the poster that said he/she was worried about Lamkin in SEC play. I have the exact opposite feeling. Glad he's on my team.

He allowed some base runners but always made the pitch he needed to get out of the inning.

Would sure be comforting going into conference play to see Miles follow suite tomorrow.

Baseball is relatively simple at this level. don't walk guys and you win. Or said another way, win the free base war.

Our weekend rotation is really good at this.

I like the way you think. But given how this season has started, I'm reserving all judgement until we play real baseball teams. How we play against Elon, Cal-Poly, some Big 12 hacks, and NMSU shouldn't be the true measuring sticks.
But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

I understand being slightly concerned (maybe a 3/10). His WHIP is probably higher than you'd like considering the competition. As you go into SEC play, you will see much deeper line ups, that theoretically should turn traffic on the bases to runs, but his ERA currently looks good. Here's to hoping he keeps at this pace, or gets stronger as the year goes on.

I agree with the questions about Lamkin's WHIP. Definitely an area of improvement if that ERA is going to remain looking great

On the list of this teams concerns, Lamkin isn't one currently and actually is a bright spot for this team, along with the rest of the weekend starters. Bullpen then defense then offense then way down there starters remain the hierarchy of concern
