Yep. Umpires take it in the teeth when they're out of position and blow a call. They should be recognized for when they're in the right position and make the right call. Well done by that umpire.

That was a fun game. I am glad they finally showed the replay, because she looked out at first glance. We were yelling at the house, but started cheering when the red signaled safe.

Heck of a game between 2 good teams. This is exactly what type of game you would expect. They have some great fielders and that was a hellacious play by their center fielder. Hats off to her.

3-2 walk off in the 7th.

Our top 4 hitters go 5 for 12 in this game. So I look for the back half of the line-up to bring a spark in the next 2 games. Trisha promised aggressive baserunning and Mac stretching for 2nd on the throw to 3b is dead on. Mac's got a motor, I'll give her that. The next two games will be pressed to match the greatness of the first one. Game1 was an instant classic.

I've watched Gator CF Falby for 3 years, she's been nothing but defense, big hitting & speed for the Gators. Her stride appears to be 8' long. That catch to STEAL a grand slam from Perez was right up there with Kramer's opening day gem. Should be an ESPN SCTop10. The throw & relay to get the runner at home wasn't shabby either. Not gonna beat Jovic's 30-20-20 night though. Aggies had a nice double play & played solid in the field.

7th game this season with attendance of over 2,250. Great job Aggieland, fantastic to see the support for a wickedly strong team.

What an awesome game !! Against the best offense in the country. And one of the best pitching staffs in the country.

A nail biter. At times I thought it might be a deja vu game again, coming back to bite us, but did not say it out loud and certainly did not post it in the thread! We have lost quite a few games in the last inning or two the past few years. Including last year in Lefty's 'breakout year'. She tends to give up lots of walks and big hits at crucial times. Hit batsmen. Wild pitches. Not all the time, of course. But enough.

Top of 4th inning - mixed with a couple of outs a walk, passed ball, error on 3B, passed ball and another walk left bases loaded with two outs ... but a fly out ended it. WHEW !!

Top of 7th inning - Tied game. Two quick ground outs but followed by two walks. Finger crossing time! In the past, the other team grabs a homer or two consecutive doubles or we make a couple of crucial errors or something and they go ahead by two or three and then we go three up/three down in the bottom of the inning to lose the game in a heartbreaker.

But it did NOT happen that way !!!

Hats off to Kendra Falby, CF, Senior, bats .476, 2024 Rawlings Gold Glove Award, who led the Gators in hits her first three years and who robbed Mya of a grand slam that would have put us up 5-1. Darn it. DARN IT.

And thanks to Kenleigh Cahalan, 3B, Junior, bats .438, solo homer in the top of the 6th to tie the game but made a crucial error in bottom of 7th, allowing the winning run to score in the walk off win. What would that have done to us mentally if she not made that throw and kept the runner at third and then our next batter grounded out, struck out, etc. and ended the inning with a still-tied game? Could have turned out differently. Has happened many times.

But it did NOT happen that way !!!

We did enough to win it. Some clutch plays, some clutch hits and, yes, some clutch pitches. It shows our players that they really CAN win big games against big teams. On the road and at home.

Hats off to their freshman pitcher, tough loss for her. 2024 PGF All American. 2024 PGF 18U National Champion. 2023 Florida Gatorate POY. 2023 Florida State Champion. With her and sophomore Ava Brown, to go along with their other awesome pitchers - look out!

I even tried to go to Seat Geek for 3 tickets and there aren't any options. 2 seats are but are $130 each. Will keep my eyes open but def will watch online.

Amazing play by Florida right fielder. She got rid of that ball SOOO quick and in perfect throwing motion from the catch, then a PERFECT throw. Absolutely no lost motion by her or the catcher.

Forgot to mention earlier - the two hits in the bottom of the 7th to win the game were both with ... 2 outs.

I'm an old, so maybe my memory is foggy, but I thought we mostly beat that last season. The absolute worst was 2022, when the vast majority of our losses came when leading going into the 7th.

Fun game last night. Winning the Friday game makes the rest of the weekend so much better. Hopefully rain has passed through by 4 oclock. North wind game today. Should be another tight one fitting 2 top 5 teams

In for a youth softball tourney. Someone on ticket forum said you can watch from outfield without a ticket. can you bring lawn chairs or is it standing only?

You can bring lawn chairs but end up standing up to see. We take breaks between innings and during pitching changes.

Buy General Admission walk up and then fill in the reserved seats during the 3rd inning.

Why does softball not use the extra, "safety" base at first base?
