My wife is a UTSA alum and last year we attended the Aggie UTSA game. UTSA was ahead 4-0 and my wife was feeling pretty good. But our guy, can't remember his name, hit three homers. I think the last one was a walk off? I know he hit about seven total homers for the season. So it was the best way to win to give UTSA hope, then crush them.

Anyway we're happy to get to come again this year!

Yeah that was his name Appel.

I remember his bat didn't ping like everyone else's. It was more of a "clack". I guess composite.

Loved Jaxson both as a player and a teammate. He was the biggest surprise for me last season. Just continued to hit, and hit, and hit…..

Checked my friend Google and Appel's BA was 331 which was second on the team behind Schott's 335.

Another memory from last years game…. A guy sitting behind me, who has one of those voices that carries through the stadium, pronounced his name as the fruit. "Let's go Apple"!

Of course he could be right for all I know.
