Lineup thoughts

I think there's a general overreaction. I'm not there year freaking out about the offense as a whole.

But my question is when Sorrell returns, with TK being what I'd call one of the brighter spots of the offense and speed that can help produce runs, if there hasn't been any change in production from Kash, I'd be very tempted to put Sorrell and TK in the corner outfield spots.

In reality hoping I'm completely jinxing the situation in a good way and Kash destroys the baseball this weekend.

But in general, there's 0% chance I'm going to believe this team of excellent hitters, with the same hitting coach, suddenly can't hit. It will come....The bullpen however is an entirely different story.

I'd move Kash to 1B and drop him in the order. TK2, Jace and Sorrell in the OF. If Kash continues to not hit, then go with Bergevin and Binderup until someone starts hitting.

If Sorrell was back this weekend I think the best outfield is TK/Jace/Sorrell. Beyond that Henseler, Kent and Galloway have been performing well enough to be everyday guys in the lineup.

I'd like to see some rotation at 2B, 1B and DH until someone steps up with some production.

Our lineup is too top-heavy with LHH, can be shut-down by good / decent LHP.

Need more production from RHH other than Henseler, Kiel would help.

I agreed, and TK has been solid on defense as well. No way you can't convince me he shouldn't be an everyday player. And ditto on the hitting, it will come no question. They just need to settle down and stop trying to force being a huge juggernaut hitting team which they can be.

Exactly we know it's early but TK2 should only be out of the lineup when he plays his way out of it. He's hitting over 400. I'd like him at lead off with Kent 2nd, Henseler who is great 3rd then Jace. Followed by Berghevin/Binderup, Galloway, Schott, Kash. Farr/george 2b.

I hope Earley doesn't have to depend on us for advice?!?

I keep seeing this, so I have to ask. What makes Kash more deserving of the 1B spot than Binderup so far?

I think people assume his Defense will be better. Neither is hitting very well. Any argument for either based on the last 7 games is a reach.

Has Bergevin played first base? If so, I'd give him a look.

I said this assuming Sorrell is back. So you'd have TK2, Sorrell and Jace in the OF. I'd give Kash first shot at 1B because I think he's a defensive improvement, not necessarily offense. Move Kash down in the order to 7-8-9, and if he continues to struggle at the plate, rotate Bindy and Berg in there until one of them starts producing.

Thats Berghevins position he may not be the answer but he deserves to get a look as this isnt cutting it and we now have 9 games before conference.

He's a better defensive 1B.

He also was an All American at Tech so he should have a longer leash to figure out than Binderup who has yet to put it together consistently in real games here.

Ideally they both get going because we need to find a way to replace Gavin's production.

Only thing I can think of is at least Kash has proven he can hit at the college level.

That's true but you could have said that about Ryan Targac after his sophomore year. It's way too soon to write Kash off but what's the old saying? Past performance doesn't always indicate future results. I hate to use Ryan for this example because I think the world of him and I'm sure he's still wondering why he could never get his swing back. It sure wasn't because he didn't try hard enough.

I read Kendall Roger's interview, he said he doesn't like the looks of the Aggie's body language and that they're having too many "lazy" at bats. Hard to argue with that.

I thought for sure that if the Aggies could lead off the first inning with a home run or two in the first inning Tuesday that would snap them out of their slump. It's almost they went out of their way to show me how little I know about baseball.

Earley has a challenge on his hands.

52 SO to 36 Walks is shocking. And Jace is our SO leader at 10.

We're hitting .258 as a team. We will see what we really have this weekend. I'm more than a bit worried that we aren't working pitchers as well as we did last year.

I do know this. TK should be in the lineup every single game until he plays himself out of it. He's special.

Man, this seems so true from what I've seen. We are making it WAY too easy on opposing pitchers. Last year, we would grind a pitcher down. This year not so much.

It did feel like they "snapped out of it" somewhat at first. The ABs in the first 2 innings were good. I think once we gave up the 5 spot in the 3rd they started pressing again.

We struggle against LHP, both of Texas State's were lefties.
