The approach at the plate is awful. Way too many guys taking good pitches and swinging for the fences. The results are k's and weak pop ups.

These should be fundamental things but we clearly aren't even doing these things well against teams with much lesser talent. We aren't in a "that's baseball situation" where we just aren't getting breaks, we look like a very poorly coached and undisciplined team. Could just be kids trying to do too much or it could be a result of hiring a coach that is more friends with the players than coach.

As to your last point, you need to consider that fact that, given the way this coaching change happened and how and WHERE SOB went, and the fact that a everyone who could return to this team did, there may not have ever been another A&M team with this level of high expectations placed on them. Nor the level of scrutiny. The team likely is just now getting through this and learning how to deal with it. There is more pressure here given the circumstances than I have ever witnessed an A&M team have pre season. I have no doubt guys are pressing. And as the level of adversity rises, so does the level of tightness. Add a 1st year HC to this, and I think we all need to be a little patient with this team. I think k they will be VERY good this year. But there will be growing pains. But once this team sheds the cloud of having to live up to the level of the 2024 team and develops their own identity, look out!

Very similar to how the players wanted Elijah Robinson to take over the football program.

Sometimes what 18-22 year old kids want isn't what's best for them or best for the program. Hopefully this is just a blip, but all aspects of the program appear to have severely regressed and we haven't played anyone with a pulse yet.
