Man, the VA pitcher pitched a great game but we did juuuuust enough to pull out the win - whew !!!

Espn app showed Perez's last at bat as fielder's choice but no out recorded as Harper beat the throw to second. No error assigned and no credit for a hit. It has to be one or the other. What were they saying on the broadcast?

Munnerlyn picks up her first collegiate save in her second appearance.

A fielder's choice has to record an out.

I guess if the scorer felt like she could have thrown out Perez at first it could be scored that way. Listening to the broadcast on the radio it sounded like she had no chance to do that.

Nevermind. You already said what must have happened. Sounds like E was the right call though

The fielder has to attempt to put out another runner other than the hitter advancing to first. The attempt may not succeed but in the eyes of scorekeeper there must be the belief the hitter could not reach first safely except for the choice of the fielder to try to put out another runner.

So that scoring decision cannot be reached with empty bases for example.

After finally seeing it myself definitely not an error. Doubt Mya would have been thrown out either

Also not why Harp wasn't already on 2nd. Maybe held her so they would put Mya on. Clear easy base the pitch before

Last game of the tourney. And so early, too!

Hope we have more energy today and rebound from a not so great Saturday. I think they will. Not because Coach yelled at them (she probably did!) but because they are Aggies and Aggies show the real fight !!

Sorry, guys, but I'll keep at my DeeDee and Kelsey cheerleading - would love to see DeeDee start! AND, would love to see Kelsey get some time in OF and at the plate. Freshmen KK, Frankie, Lessentine and Munnerlyn doing well, let's see how THEY can do whilst we are still in non-conference play !!

So I'm just now posting for the first time on this thread. I did watch yesterday.

So is this tournament just more of round robin and not an actual bracket? Are the there place winners, or is it just winning/losing a game?

And not that it matters, I was just wondering since I didn't see a bracket or a list of where people currently rank based on wins/losses.

This tournament has 40 teams !!

No bracket. Just set games. Do not know if they even announce a 'winner' of the tourney. It's more giving teams a chance to play a bunch of opponents of different calibers, tuning up for conference play.

Thanks! That's what I thought. That's what our high school tournament was this week, mostly round robin, no places.

And I'm not new to softball, just to posting on these threads. I do think I posted some towards the end of last season. Hoping to make it to more games that I did last year, which I may be able to since our travel ball is on hold this spring while we are in high school ball.

We're the home team today.

Last games wind was blowing out and I think we hit only one HR (KK?). Wind blowing IN from left field today so maybe we will buck it and send a few over the fence.

Cheerleading again - would love to see DeeDee do it !!
