In my 50+ years of watching sports I've never had a bigger gut punch.
To come within 1 run of a national title, to the coach sleazing off the bus and going there of all places in a day's time is beyond belief. Followed up by doing his best to raid the coaching staff and any player that would listen to him is what obliterated the line. I still can't believe how all that went down.
I hope he fails miserably and his brain rots from syphilis.

I forgot to include that he's a great salesman. I was sold. Since I'm born & raised and live in Fort Worth I've watched him build the tcu program and listened to his interviews. I always thought he would be great at A&M and wished that we would steal him from tcu. F!

he knew he was leaving by late April, rumor was out. Sips just had to make sure they didn't reach Omaha again.

Schloss leaving is 100% on him alone BUT I hate more than anything that CDC gets off scot free in all this. I have been around them both and CDC is as big of a snake and con man as the night is dark. He talked trash about tu his whole career until the second he saw an AD opening there and then jumped at the chance. That should tell you all you need to know about him. I really hope he gets his come uppance in all this and all sip sports dealings period.

I have zero problem with him taking the job at Texas. In terms of baseball history, that and the LSU job are like the top two and it's not even close. It's the way he went about it and the timing that is the issue. It's possibly one of the worst coaching transition stories in college athletics. Although I don't really understand why he would leave a team he just built into a monster that has the same level facilities and money for the rival team He has owned over the last three years… But the job overall is a top two in baseball IMO

This is a pointless argument and will be my last post on the subject, however I feel compelled to point out that the entire reason for my original comment was to combat what I perceived to be recency bias (at best) or ignorance (at worst) by a younger Ag and correct his factually incorrect comment.

Again, that's just an erroneous statement all around. The double down of "and it's not even close" seems to indicate it was a comment made by someone who's a relatively new/young college baseball fan. I felt that needed to be addressed. History of the game is revered in baseball probably more than any other game in the world with the possible exception of soccer.

The statement made wasn't regarding the best job or who's been successful more recently. To ridicule ME because the guy can't make his argument cogently seems a bit silly.

I've still seen no evidence that Trev Alberts didn't totally screw this up by not preemptively discussing his contract before we went on a run to the CWS, and the fact he dropped the ball on the new baseball stadium completely.

I don't think I've ever shared my son's recruiting story with Schloss and tcu. TCU was one of the first to take notice of him when he was a sophomore and Tony Vitello was the recruiting coordinator, yeah,a while ago. They invited him out for an unofficial visit, and it was huge because it was his first. Tony then left for Arkansas and enter Kirk Saarloos.Then, his junior year he was invited to an elite prospects camp. When Luken Baker came to the plate, Schloss said, this is the match up I've been waiting to see. It didn't go well for Luken. TCU them drug their feet on him and after he had offers from a lot of other schools, Schloss calls him and said he wanted to invite us out to talk an offer. Thing was, it was a Tuesday at 5pm and the height of Rush hour, grrrr, getting from Southlake to TCU that time of day is a pain. We knew it was important, so suck it up buttercup and go. We get there, wife, son and myself, and Schloss and Saarloos meet us at the gate, walk us to his office to sit down and talk. Saarloos was probably his top pick as a pitching coach, so he's excited to hear the offer. We talk for about 20 minutes, then Schloss gets up, says appreciate you coming out, and when you're ready to hear an offer, give me a call. We're looking at each other like wtf, say our pleasant good byes and appreciation for the interest and head for the car. We get in the car and my son cuts loose on a colorful rant, saying I can't believe he had us drive over here this time of day, you two knocking off work early, only to think he's the horse whisperer and going to walk away without giving me an offer, F him, he's a dick and I'd never play for that SoB. All my wife could say at the time was, quit cussing. Son got his revenge multiple times against them and he always had a little extra juice when he faced them. 2019, at Lupton, the win Friday, the save Saturday and the win on Sunday. Was proud my son could read people the way he could.

Lucci and others were all over this last Spring/Summer. Trev repeatedly sought meetings with Schloss which he turned down or skipped. On one hand you can waive it off saying, Schloss was getting the team ready for the CWS run and doesn't have time to meet with his boss. On the other hand, as HC you have your assistants that can handle things for an hour or so when your boss calls you for a meeting. It was well reported that Schloss skipped multiple planning meetings in the last year to discuss plans for the rebuilt stadium.

His first year here was 2022. By 2024 the department was fully committed for a stadium redevelopment. To think Trev was dragging his feet on the issue is laughable. Large capitol projects at public institutions don't move quickly. Shy of a large donor walking in with a blank check willing to underwrite the entire project it's not going to happen in 2 years.

CDC came calling and Schloss and his 20something girlfriend wanted to go to Austin. End of story.

The man was drunk on tv twice with Finebaum - at the Destin meetings and their SEC entrance party. What kind of executive does that? It's a red flag. Just like no players followed Schloss from TCU or A&M. Another red flag that parents should think twice about.

CDC did hide out in a cemetery though.
