I was at a high school regional softball tournament in Oklahoma today. The team and crowd started a ball 5 chant with the hand and arm motion.

I heard the OK State fans doing it at the Big 12 baseball tournament in '97. That was at All Sports Stadium in OKC. It's been in use in OK for a while.

I'm guessing the pukes in Seattle are trying to steal that tradition just like the 12th Man. (Person)

I think the pukes in Seattle that started it are a bunch of Aggies that work at Boeing and subcontractors, so I really don't think it's a big deal. They should've known A&M would go after them after esipn tried to take the 12th man. At least Seattle paid for the rights!

It's less about who's doing. It's about how well you're doing it and how much its imbedded in the fabric of the in-game experience. Others will rarely be able to effectively emulate our version. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

And started their own trademark to avoid the licensing costs…

So…to have a trademark either common law or registered you have to use it and defend it. The license fees we charge for 12th Man are likely out in the coffer for legal representation to defend and extend the trademark,
