I didn't see it mentioned above, but he also made a fantastic play in RF. Crashed into the wall for a foul ball. Earned the sport center theme over the PA.

I am so damn excited for this season. Like I cannot wait.

I am still disappointed they didn't immediately fundraise (at least from us commoners) immediately after Earley was hired but it looks like there is still tons of lingering momentum ready for whenever they announce the campaign… (season ticket price hikes not included).

Had to leave early to get my 2 year old home, but some thoughts:

Kent looks really comfortable at SS. I don't know that he hits leadoff all year, but he did a good job in that spot tonight. Sorrell is really good. I'm glad we got everyone back but he was one I really, really wanted. Farr looks pretty good defensively. His swing needs a little work. I'm going to bet Hensler/Gavin take over at 3B/2B unless we move one to OF. I like Harrison behind the plate defensively. He receives the ball well. Didn't really get to see the arm. George looked pretty good. Bet he ends up being a solid pick up. I want to see Bergevin more against better pitching. When we picked him up I thought he looked stiff swinging the bat. Tonight didn't change my opinion of that. Didn't learn a lot from Kash tonight. He swings hard though. Binderup ran into one but was down 0-2 in that count I believe and struck out looking on 3 pitches his next AB. I'm going to bet he's going to get his chances like last year because the potential is there.

Pitching wise Patton just looked like a weekend guy. Really in control of what he was doing. Wilson looked similar to last year. Throws really hard but struggled to just put guys away. I wasn't overly impressed with Cunningham. He seemed like a breaking ball first guy and that pitch just wasn't that great tonight. Fastball was 86-90 unless he was throwing a cutter or something. Brad wasn't lights out but that's not really his game. Seemed like the usual stuff there which has been a good thing. Moss looked good.

Just one scrimmage and my first time to see a lot of these guys. We seemed more aggressive at the plate.

I'm a bit worried Cunningham is hurt unless he's taking it easy to work on something this fall. He was really good last year but fell off at end of the season and then got pummeled in the Cape. Scouts had him in the mid-90s last spring.

I was pretty surprised. I never saw a pitch over 90 and he threw a ton of breaking balls. Some were good. A lot weren't. He's a big dude though.

Nice night for a couple of the top prospects from the west to be here too . Likely had more for a scrimmage than anywhere on the west coast will have for games.

I thought Burton was better at the plate and with the leather. I'm not saying Binderup was awful on average throws, but Burton would bail you out on a bad throw. Schloss even commented on it, I think during the radio show at Rudy's (maybe after the incarnate word game?).
