Can you or do you have to put your name in the portal before a deadline but not actually leave the school you have been at and therefore come back to A&M.

I have no problem with them entering the portal depending on who A&M hires, if they hire the baseball equivalent of Mike Sherman I wouldn't blame them for leaving.

Just a reminder entering the portal doesn't mean leaving. They would be dumb to not enter. They don't know who their coach is and need options. They can always enter and choose to stay.

It's only 20% coach, 80% how much NIL money a school throws at them.

Doesn't matter, their gone to stable places with a shot at making the tourney next year. If it was me I would do the same. NIL only has one color.
Say we hire Bakich. They aren't staying. The only possible shot would be what TU did, hire Bakich including his entire satff and top 10 players....

Yes. There is a deadline of July 2 to enter the portal. You can leave it whenever.
College Baseball free agency. Hopefully we invest where it matters.
The players leaving hurts more than the coaches. We supported the heck out of you guys and always had your back. And you repay us by going to play for our rival and ex-coach.

What do you expect? This is not a matter of their loyalty to the program. They are baseball players for a school who has no coaching staff and no prospects, because we were caught flat-footed. Whoever we get will be a quick get, not alot of time to pick or be choosey.
