I was suppressing my nerves all during yesterday's loss. It won't be any different today. This is what I'm telling myself:
1. Vitello is our best ally. What an ass. His personality has affected his team. They were shell shocked Saturday and bellicose on Sunday because they were scared, The deep pressure is all in their dugout.
2. We beat them up and down in every phase on Saturday and took them right to the 27th out yesterday. The relief was evident when the tying runs in both 8th and 9th flied out a few feet short of a tie game.
3. Noisy bravado is not confidence. They're going to be nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs with Vitello causing as much stress as the aggies will.
4. I'm enjoying this aggie first and whether we win or lose, I'm very confident we will be back.

Nervous or anxious, don't know which. However, win or lose, I'm absolutely sure we will be back soon. That isn't fake bravado, that is honest confidence. It's a great feeling.Aggie Therapist said:

1) They did outstanding and I am super proud of them. This team deserves nothing but praise for their grit and hard work

I'm also a bit numb as I have yet to return to work after my week of vacation to Colorado. I'm sure I'll need my thick skin from the few sips that I work with.

I'm definitely sad. I'm incredibly optimistic about next season though.

I haven't changed my breathing, it's as steady as ever. You see, I'm used to the Aggie athletic culture being, not quite able to get over the top. I've watched A&M athletics for about 70 years and just like tonight nothing changed. I thought they just might take it all last night, but after that loss I called the loss tonight. It's inevitable! From Bear Bryant to the new football coach, all the baseball coaches and basketball coaches, face it, it's just part of the culture!!Aggie Therapist said:

We just witnessed the greatest run in Aggie baseball history. Enjoy every minute of it and remember the great memories the season had.

I think we need to be careful when we make statements like number two here, and I'm not trying to be a nitpick Nathan here, but there are several other athletic sports and events that we are performing in and winning championships in. Making statements like this really undervalue their hard work, determination, and success. I get it, it's not one of the top men's three that we're all looking forward to winning some day, but these athletes deserve as much of our respect and admiration as we gave baseball this past season.
Let's be careful making these kinds of statements, just my two cents.

There is no shame in losing to THAT Vols team. Sure, they were not likable AT ALL, but the fact we went toe to toe with a fully loaded Vols team at full strength while having a depleted lineup makes me just as proud to be an Aggie today.
The loss still stings because we could taste it, but wow… I've seen 'em lose and I've seen 'em win, but I've never seen 'em quit. This is a team I'll forever be proud of. Gig 'em Ags and BTHOeverybody in 2025!

It's been a few years since I graduated. Life got in the way of following A&M as a spectator. Moved away physically and mentally, but approaching a milestone Anni and such, found listening to, watching A&M sports a respite from aches and pains of life.
In 2011 was in Chicago on business when Gary Blairs team won their title. In 2012 I met Pat Henry and his wife on a cruise following a successful T&F season. Wish I had planned better for a trip to Omaha, but no. I have thoroughly enjoyed every game of Aggie baseball this season and can only hope Coach Schloss is here for many more
