Vitello asked multiple times about his time with Schloss and what he learned from him. Asshat talks about other staff members at Mizzou, another coach at TCU, etc. Refused to discuss working with Schloss.

I'm not trying to say anything nice about Vitello... but perhaps he was exercising restraint and utilizing an "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it" ?

Also, if I were queen of the world, in threads like this the OP would be banhammered for not sharing a link.
Cmon buddy, share the context.

Watching it on TV right now...

THEN WHY AREN'T YOU LINKING TO LIVE TV!?!??!

j/k but seriously, the context of "I'm watching the interview on ESPN" or whatever is very helpful since I just searched twitter for more time than I care to admit so that I could see which TCU coach he did complement.

Randy Mazey. HC at WV that resigned. He shared an office with Vitello at TCU.

Yes, and often these things get posted and some others watch the same clip and reply "I didn't take it how you took it at all". Many sensitive Aggies who get riled by anything short of effusive aggie praise.

Duly noted. Pretty aware of what I heard. And I am not a sensitive Ag. Really don't care about what Vitello said and didn't say. He is just an ass. They took a photo together with the trophy. One smiled. One didn't.

Is there some beef I'm forgetting? Schloss usually has good things to say about Vitello.

I don't know if its Vitello being Vitello, or if there is an issue

I'm guessing he doesn't want to give Schloss any insight into what he may not be thinking Schloss's strategy will be

That's not how the questions were asked. Guess I can't discount that entirely. He wouldn't even say Schloss' name.

Thanks! Yeah Randy Mazey is an incredible human being. I was really happy for him when he left TCU for an HC job and I was really really rooting for him this season.

But all the announcers who said he has been at WVU "forever" can jump off of a cliff, because Mazey was the assistance coach when I was in college, which was just a few years ago TYVM.

So for context, Vitello mentioned him when asked about Schloss. And said college baseball wasn't as good without him. And spoke about his ideas at TCU.

thanks, hopefully I can find a clip later.
I'm a big fan of Mazey. ..but without hearing, that sounds like something I do when I don't have nice feedback about someone lol.

It's pretty easy to go into coach speak and say generic nice things about anything and anyone.

Just saw the interview on replay. Question was about what he took away from his time at TCU and working under Schloss. Talked about the former and gave a little tribute to Mazey. Not a big deal. No need to manufacture something offensive from it.

Just watched the interview. Didn't have quite the same take-away initially, I think he was just answering the question of what did you learn while at TCU which sounded like a lot from Mazey from sharing an office. But reading his body language and interaction with Schloss for the picture with the trophy, definitely came across as cold and a bit of a dbag. Don't think there is a lot of love there. Not the type of interaction I would expect from people who had worked together and respected each other.

Maybe this is the result of some type of voice to text software, but his phraseology and way of answering questions comes across weird in this.

On working under Texas A&M HC Jim Schlossnagle at TCU
"Another thing that timing is good, this morning I talking at breakfast, Randy Mazey, whose West Virginia team went on a phenomenal run this year, retires. Baseball got worse without him around. But he'll still be around and he's way over-opinionated. He'll always have opinions.
In Fort Worth, we shared an office. Coach Schlossnagle was down the hall. And me and Maze shared an office. And the back of his chair was right here. And the different projects and ideas and things he had were very they helped me along the way. It was a good education.
And then also some of the stuff he did was incredibly dumb. He tried to teach himself to be a stockbroker and things like that. It was interesting.
And then the other thing I can speak to is this common theme I've been throwing out about stay true to your roots. Went from Missouri, which there was a lot of success, thanks to guys like Max, and Coach J was very good to me. But it was time to first of all, it was nice to get south of the Mason-Dixon line.
But the first month there I was honestly miserable because in my head I thought TCU had just played in Omaha and Missouri has never done that.
So I've got to do something different, and it ended up kind of, it was like "Talladega Nights," had a pretzel in my head. Come to find out, if I started that month and started that year and been who I was which is certainly not perfect I think things would have started off better.
But all in all, I felt like things went well, and it was nice to go into the SEC, no doubt about it, but I knew there was some talent being left behind and would miss out on some success, and I'll be dang if Boomer White didn't get a bunch of hits and prove that theory right. Now he's an Aggie, too."

Vitello was throwing crap in the dugout and screaming in the 9th inning vs FSU when they went down 4 runs. If these games become a pressure cooker who do you think will blink first? I like my guy.
