They used their best starting pitcher by far, Pooser. He lasted 101 pitches. We should be seeing their no. 2 guy tomorrow. He's Mason Moore. Season era of 4.93. Last week against OSU he pitched 3.1 innings giving up two runs, one earned.
I also assume Mason Moore will start. He is a ground ball pitcher which can play into the strength of the UK infield. He also gets into jams with walks/HBP/backstop which makes for stressful innings. For his start in the regionals he was coming off "flu-like" symptoms and then against OSU in the Supers he did't really seem back to normal.

The mystery is Ryan Hagnow. He has great numbers, an era of 1.96. He's their dugout captain but I think he might be injured although a search on that didn't turn up anything. He only pitched 18.1 innings this season and didn't pitch in their Super Regional or against N. Carolina State yesterday.
Agreed. He was one of the highest rated recruits to come to UK. He has been solid but not up to the high expectations that were put upon him. He seems comfortable in being in a solid support role.
During most of the conference season UK relied on "manufacturing" lots of runs to win ball games because the bullpen would end up giving up runs late in the game. However, towards the end of the year the bull pen started playing more consistent.....and the offense fell off a bit. In the regionals and super regionals they held ISU and OSU to scoreless games mostly due to solid fielding.
The best overall player (Waldschmidt) is currently in a slump. The back end of the line up has picked up recently to offset the slump.
Pretty decent team speed.
They are generally aggressive in base running.
Their dugout will do "softball" things that Texags will complain about.
Sean98 will be along shortly to correct everything I just said.
