Watching Collins bat pisses me off so much. He crowds the plate, puts on a big giant hard shell elbow pad, hangs out over the plate and just wears it off the armor. His elbows are 100% out of the box. That means (for a ball not in the box) he Must make an attempt to get out of the way. Umps call this terrible wrong compared to the actual rule.

Call it right, eliminate the hard shell pads.

It's not illegal. But if he makes no effort to avoid a pitch that is not in the batters box and it hits him it's supposed to be a strike. So the umps are F'ing it up.

Also, I'm just morally opposed to the hard pass. It is bad for the game.

Are you saying he's over the plate. I did not notice that one.

I have seen some softball players for Tennessee pull that crap last year when they were playing at A&M. 2023

It was late in the game and they were way over on top of the play. We hit them both on that arm armor. Cannot remember if we asked for a review of the second one. It ended up being the difference in the game. I think we lost by one. So I can't stand that Vols head coach bc that one was clearly taught and told to do in the last inning.
