The point is it's baseball and there shouldn't be any fistacufs. And if there is, the crews job is to break it up and end it quickly. Then toss the instigators (which they botched in this case).

If it takes 20 minutes to figure out someone inadvertently grazed the umpire, it probably doesn't warrant an ejection.

I agree completely, they were just being sticklers about the rule…but it is indeed a rule

I like Clemson. It was a fun trip in 2005. Now, Clemson and South Carolina people do NOT like each other. I mean death stares at random pools in ATX kind of hate.

Like I said before, contacting an umpire/official in that situation is a pretty well known zero tolerance policy in college sports

Not the runner running to first, it was the runner on third that ran in there and contacted the umpire

So is leaving the bench… as MSU learned the hard way. Both would be technicalities. No reasonable person watching that interaction would come to the conclusion there should have been an ejection.
