We tossed around the concept during peak Covid. Just couldn't see a lot of comparable career opportunities.

I retired early about 9 years ago. Moving back was an easy choice. If I ever decide to go back to work, St Joe's is literally walking distance.

Thank you, Ryan Targac, the 12th Man in every way.

Ryan is a class act. Last season my oldest son (4) really latched on to Targac, he is his favorite player. Every game any time an Aggie gets a Hit he asks me if that was Ryan Targac. Last year at his birthday my wife messaged Ryan on Instagram (which I was not a big fan of her doing) and he ended up sending us a video wishing our son a happy birthday. It has been tough to watch the season unfold the way it has for #12 but he has handled it all so well. It was an awesome experience to be at the Saturday game of the Arkansas series and watch him walk it off. He deserves all the great things that are coming his way in life.

I love Max. And I love Ryan for how he treats Max and all the other kids that look up to him. I was tearing up reading this, and know how much more outgoing Max has become in large part due to Ryan.

Also- it would be your youngest that brings you notoriety.

Moms always see how adults interact with their children. And they don't get called "momma bears" for nuthin'!!!

But rarely does someone win public praise like this. It reflects on not just RT and the team but validates Schloss selecting him for the 12 he wears in spite of a difficult season:

I love that our softball team seniors leave their cleats at home plate at the end of the year. Ryan has invested himself in the community in the exact same symbol with his affection for Max. It's endearing.

I believe these stories are much more common in baseball than other sports because of the way kids are taught courtesy and sportsmanship from the very beginning.

Max got to meet Daddy Targac last night. Just as kind as Ryan. He's a mountain of a man and got right down on Max's level to introduce himself and get knuckles.
