The single elimination is only an SEC Tournament thing. The NCAA Tourney is double elimination at each stage.

The SEC tournament semifinals being single elimination has both helped and hurt us over the years. It's annoying but they don't have nearly as much time to fit in the games as the NCAA tournament does.

NCAA regionals and Omaha before the championship series are pure double elimination. Supers and CWS finals are best of 3, so also sorta double elimination. The CWS winner can lose 4 games over the course of tournament and still win. It's neat.

I stand corrected. The way they present the scheduling led me to believe otherwise because they call
It the Regional Championship GAME. Glad to know they got the format right.

Hmmm... Edited by staff... Guess I really goofed something up.

Yeah, sorta confusing. It's a regional championship series, but the losers bracket team has to win twice, while the winners bracket team just once.

Well, if we win them it absolutely is.

But I get it. Odd phrasing, sounds winner take all.

If you earn the right to host, you should be rewarded the home team every game in your own park. What an idiotic decision by the NCAA.
This is the right answer. The current set up is idiotic. If you earned the right to host then the benefit should be you are the home team. Why are they negating this benefit, it isn't logical…but that fits the NCAA I guess.
It should be based on seed. Highest sees is home team. Host is not always the 1 seed.

IMO highest seed should be home.

Perk of being highest seed.

The announcers last night kept using that phrase which I think is slightly inaccurate

At least they finally quit making host teams flip dugouts. Yeah if you were the designated " visitor" team in your home ballpark you had to occupy the opposite dugout that you were normally in.
That was really stupid

Higher seed should be the home team. It's stupid you can earn right to host them be walked off your own field.

I think tu had something to do with the rule on dugouts throwing a fit when they had to move.
