I think this projection is more accurate than the D-1. With our RPI, record against top teams, etc., I think we finally get some credit and a lot of it is due to Schloss.

If the SEC gets 5 SEC national seeds and 4 are on the same side. And the metrics align with this. Than that's just luck for the committee bc I'm pretty sure in the past they have done this and the metrics were not aligned.

The slotting in Omaha is 1 v 8 and 4 v 5 in one bracket and 2 v 7 and 3 v 6 in the other, I presume, with the super regional winner being slotted into the national seed's slot if the national seed is eliminated??

Any chance the CWS field of 8 are reseeded after the supers rather than using the pre super seedings?

UT was ranked N0.1 all year and seeded N0. 1 for the supers.

Eh, not really imo. UT was the no 1 seed and they lost. ND took that spot and the benefits therein but I wouldn't ever say they were the no 1 seed.

It's a fixed bracket like the basketball tournament. Has been that way since 1999.

9-16 only recently got seeded by the NCAA a few years ago. Prior to that, they only seeded 1-8 and then followed the geography rules.

If you beat no. 1, as in your example above, you ought to be able to play their bracket.

Following this idea down a very silly rathole, why stop re-seeding after Supers? Why not re-seed again after the 1st round in Omaha? Or after every round?

I don't see this kind of re-seeding ever happening and I would definitely be against it. Being Cinderella is already exceedingly difficult. This is would make it nearly impossible.
