Ashenbeck is in the dugout so he wont pitch game 2. We still have a lot of arms. We also had all of our starters last weekend go 7 innings so they got a ton of rest. Should be fine.
Umm we are sitting with the Aschenbecks and he is ready to go game 2 today.
Going to need to go a little deeper in the pin than normal with 3 games in 30 hours and it's a luxury to hold your closer until game 2 and 3.
What difference does it make? Actually one day rest might be worse.
I actually think on the road it helps the visitors. Takes away a lot of home field advantage.
Serious question, say Evan pitches ten pitches in this game and then comes back in the second game? Do you think he would be more effective waiting a day? Seems the same to me
When I coached summer HS baseball and we played double headers, I found my pitchers wanted to be on the mound for both games, as they were warmed up, knew the mound, and were mentally and physically ready to go.
We scored 4 runs w/ 2 outs... but point taken for sure. And I agree.dermdoc said:AggieBB said:dermdoc said:AggieBB said:Gyles Marrett said:If we go to the 9th up 10-5 no way I'm wasting Aschenbeck. Aschenbeck is in the bullpen. No longer in the dugout.
I will be STUNNED if we waste Asch with a 5 run lead only needing 3 outs.
He will be used if we need him. You run Sdao out and put Evan in if he gets in trouble. He would still be available for the second game.
Nah. Not with a 5 run lead needing only 3 outs.
Agree to disagree. A 5 run lead is not safe in college baseball. We scored 6 runs with 2 outs in the fifth today.

I'm assuming Game 2 starts approximately 30 minutes after this game, correct? I assume it would be but wasn't 100% sure due to a game being originally scheduled at 6 today.
