For a dropped 3rd strike, the 1st baseman is going to have time to set up on one of the bags well before the runner gets there and the runner will go to the other bag. So the runner will read the 1st baseman's position. If a bad throw pulls the first basement to the other side at the last minute, there will still be collisions, but there will be less of them.McInnis said:

Run in the runners lane and to the orange base. If the runner does that they are protected. There can still be collision, but the runner is protected from being called out for it.Quote:
