Originally this was supposed to be 2 SEC teams and 2 PAC teams and no one wanted to play conference opponents so it was a 2:1 SEC vs PAC. Ole Miss dropped out, they replaced them with purple Baylor but kept the same format (because ASU/USCw still didn't want to play each other in a non con.
