Talking about at the junior level of the sports. Softball players tend to lack coordination relative to other women's sports.
I think at the junior level you get what you get. Who are the most coordinated female athletes? Probably gymnast but they are small and probably don't have the power for softball. Basketball is probably second most coordinated and the good basketball players aren't switching to softball. Soccer players could be considered second but softball is too slow for those girls' interest when they are young. So you get the girls that want to play softball, that start young and stick with it as there only sport.
I'd include women's tennis and field hockey. Field hockey players are very coordinated and great athletes. Just not as big here in the states like other countries.
