If sips - we are visitors as they are vis today.

They try to even out home and away during Regionals. For example

Game 1 -- we are host so we are home and Grambling was away

Game 2 -- ULL was the higher seed, therefore home and tu away

Game 3 -- ULL (home in game 2) will be away versus Grambling (away in game 1)

Game 4 -- Ags (home in game 1) will be away vs tu (away in game 2)

Etc, etc, etc...

They have changed the rule that the host does 2 of 3 as Home if the If Necessary game is played.
They also changed the rule so the host can stay in their Home dugout regardless of Home / Away status.

To me if you are the higher seed and have the better in-regional record then you should be the home team

For example if we are 2-0 facing 2-1 Texas on Sunday, we should be the home team. But if they are 2-0 and we are 2-1 then they should be home team even if we are the better seed

I don't know the intricacies, but I do know that they adjusted a few years ago so the host will get 2 of 3 of the mini super portion as the home team.

home vs Oral Roberts
road vs Louisiana
road vs TCU

Somehow in the winners bracket we were the road team 2/3 times

One of those was a coin flip. The changes were in 2023 I believe...

Here's the actual host site playbook, btw, if you want an education (you want page 29 of the pdf on this topic).

They definitely take care of neutrality and flipping back and forth. (Except for not kicking the host out of their own dugout/clubhouse unless they are totally screwing the opponent by not at least providing working facilities).
