Schloss will not get whatever he wants as head coach of a non-revenue sport. Granted, baseball may be our most successful sport in the long run, but it will never be a money maker. The lion's share of the money will go to the money-making sports (FB, MBB, WBB), the next slice will go to Title IX sports, then the rest of whatever is left will go to baseball, men's golf, men's swimming, etc. The only way we get a significant upgrade to Olsen to put us on par with the great facilities around the country is to get a huge donation check designated for baseball. If we want to surpass other school's facilities, we'll need an even larger designated donation.

In baseball...as in other non-revenue, non-Title IX sports...you have to make lemonade out of the lemons you're given. Places like Arkansas, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss have all but conceded the fact they'll never be a football powerhouse, so they've allocated significant funds over to baseball. A&M will never do that. No matter what happens and no matter how many times we over-pay for a football coach to go slightly over .500, A&M will never give up on the football dream.

WBB is not close to a "money making" sport, the last numbers I saw was a loss of $3-4 mil. Baseball has the potential to be revenue producing with more seating capacity. I think it is already breakeven.

Check your WBB numbers. There are huge TV dollars out there for the P5 schools. Don't confuse "revenue making" with "nobody goes to the games." Allocated funds from the NCAA and SEC for WBB are big...even though it has a tiny fraction of the fan base that football, MBB, baseball, and even softball have.

If baseball adds more seats for the purpose of increasing revenue, those added seats will have to come in the form of suites, premium priced areas, and reserved seats. In other words, if baseball wants to make money off of added capacity, it won't be because the amount of student/GA seats are increased.

Television contracts drive everything, which is why FB, MBB, and WBB are financially strong. Baseball and softball are getting better, but they still do not have the national TV exposure the other sports have.

But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

I have never seen any numbers published reflecting A&M WBB was making money. Everything I have ever read shows annual losses exceeding $3 mil.

The stadium is not moving. We need to do the absolute best we can with what he have. There is room to do a lot of great design but we need a lead donor. The President at Blue Bell has said they won't offer any more money so we need someone to step up.

Why isn't it moving? What's the struggle here?
Triples the price if not quadruples.

Jim Schlossnagle should get whatever he wants. We bleed money at our football program and Scholoss could actually win us multiple Nattys. How is A$M going to be outdone due to money? Makes zero sense
Go take out a $250 million loan and donate it.

You may be right. Maybe I'm thinking WBB as a whole (nationally) makes money because of the TV deals. With A&M missing the NCAA tourney as much as we have lately, our payouts have been less.

Either way, a Title IX sport will get a seat at the money table before baseball will.

Why does the old softball facility exist now that they have that very fancy Davis diamond?

Then write a big check. That's what we're missing, a major donor.

Football prints money, baseball breaks even.
Calling Ross Björk that's his job to tell bma donors that we need money for the top-notch facility

I always heard the 3 revenue sports were football, men's basketball, and baseball.
This list (https://www.gobankingrates.com/money/economy/which-college-sports-make-the-most-money/amp/ ) says football, basketball, hockey, baseball.

WBB doesn't make money. See the comparison between MBB revenue and WBB revenue.

is there even room to do all that with another renovation?
Think levels...build a new field on top of a new indoor facility.
