Okay I'll bite, what really happened then?

Yeskie didn't want to work with Jay at LSU two years ago and changed his mind all of a sudden?

Well you posted like you knew what happened and obviously you knew nothing. Why did you post that?

And I am very content to keep it to myself.

Two reasons, it's being reported now and it also makes the most sense. I also posted that Yeskie was the favorite to go to LSU about a month ago and everyone on here said I was making that up too, how is it obvious that I know nothing?

Our side is going to take the high road about what happened. The incentive to get a "narrative" out there is entirely on the LSU side. The hiring entity always comments and frames it. The exiting side usually takes the high road.

It isn't what happened no matter how much you think it "makes sense". It's disappointing that an Aggie would buy into the narrative because, you know, tic tok.

We will be fine and are moving on.

This story has nothing to do with tic tok, it was an interview that Jay Johnson did on ESPN Baton Rouge simply explaining why Yeskie didn't come with him to LSU to begin with. If there was bad blood between them why would Nate be going to work for him now?

That's not exactly a good argument, if you think being all secretive makes you more credible when you shoot down what others have to say, you're wrong.

If you have something to say on the matter say it or move on

While our side isn't going to comment and will take the high road, let me share a true story with you that might help.

Early in my last CEO stint, I needed to hire a CTO. We were a software/product company and the CTO position was critical to building a great company. I hired a CTO that I knew, but never worked with directly. Great resume. Industry leading type of resume. I probably didn't do the diligence I should have but relied on the "skins on the wall".

First year was okay, but it was pretty much him running his usual playbook. We got an initial boost, but in the second year results weren't improving. I suggested we get some help from the PE firm and outside sources to look at what we were doing and see if we could get the wisdom of the crowd on our side. You would have thought I murdered his first born. The ego, the "I know what I'm doing", and the not invented here mentality kicked in.

As CEO, I was responsible for the results. I pushed harder and insisted we get help as results didnt improve. He bristled and obviously didnt like it. But he acted okay on the surface and we moved forward.

His previous PE firm that he left and trashed as someplace he would never work again had an opening for a CTO in another firm. I knew about it. I even heard that my CTO had reached out about it (though the grapevine, as it is a small world). I asked my CTO about it. He denied it and said he was all in. I asked him again a few weeks later when the rumors persisted. Again he denied it.

The pressure to perform increased on our end. He came to me and tried to leverage the other CTO role for a raise and more equity. He also wanted to call off the dogs externally and be given full reign on the technology. I declined. He took the other job. We walked him out asap and cut ties.

I took the high road externally. Even let he and the other company paint the narrative of him wanting to be reunited and "coming home". We hired another CTO and upgraded. Results improved. I sold the company for over 40X what we initially invested.

True story. Make your own judgments but I would hope Aggies would trust us before believing others. Regardless, we are about to move on, upgrade, and reap the benefits.

Ok so if I were to extrapolate your story to the departure of Yeskie that explains why he's leaving and obviously not on good terms, but that still doesn't necessarily make Jay Johnson a liar about why Nate didn't go with him to LSU to begin with. Seems like both could be true stories.

Time to move on though, I'm excited about who we will get as I know Schloss will make a good hire

Amen. I got nothing good to say about Johnson so I will say nothing.

Just be thankful Schloss is our coach.

Johnson did just win the national title. That's one good thing we can say about him.

It's funny to see how many on here have no problem with what is considered one of the top pitching coaches leaving. Also how many are blaming him for this year's pitching woes. I believe ERAs were up this year as K zones got tighter.

Also can't say there was alot left over from the RC era. Detrmer the big name, Cortez...... How many freshmen were aces across the country? Expectations at A&M don't seem realistic.

Schloss has 5 CWS trips more than anything A&M has ever seen. Also most games won at the CWS by any A&M coach. I would like to think he knows how to run a program.

The real question is why are we not holding our ADs accountable? Is LSU money wipping us? Why can't we get our house in order?

Are you saying schloss has seen more CWS than A&M ever has? No. You need to google more

Are you really going to argue with him on this? Schloss has won more games in Omaha as a coach than Texas A&M has in their entire history. His point was that Schloss as a coach has more CWS appearances and wins than any coach A&M has ever had before hiring him.

That's not what he said. He said schloss has been to 5 cws and that is more than A&M has ever seen. Which is incorrect.

Grass is always greener over the septic tank.

I've been in corporate tech firms for 20 years of my career, and seen this happen more than once. What a person thinks is leverage, can turn out to be a noose real quick.

Back to baseball, any ideas on who our next pitching coach will be?

I'm not sure I could watch Aggie baseball with Anderson as our pitching coach. Reading this just put a terrible feeling in my stomach.

Apologies as I'm a casual, why? Is it because he's been with Vitello for 5 years? Or something else?

In the end, Yeskie being gone will serve as a good thing. Jim will hire a young, enthusiastic pitching coach that is a great recruiter and who relates to these young men. Someone who knows how to use Social Media as an advantage. This will work out as a POSITIVE!

How will you spin this when we hire a 60+ year old?

Frank has been in the visiting dugout at Olsen for decades, starting with his stint at Tech in the 90's when Larry Hays won by ignoring scholarship limitations. Then, he was an assistant at t.u. (helped Augie turn it around after a rough start). That helped him get the job as head coach at OSU.

Frank is a good pitching coach. He has had a lifetime habit of riding umpires that hasn't made him many friends with the boys in blue. I could tell you a story about that, but then I'd be repeating myself like an old man as I've told it way too many times.

Ahh, would love the story anyways!

Y'all feel sick because of his history against A&M and because he rides the umps hard? At least he's a good coach according to y'all though, thats got to count for something.

I loved the Yeskie hire here and wish he would have worked out, that being said he didn't.

I felt like what he helped our pitching staff was calling pitches, but not development. To be honest we have had players regress with the mechanical changes that were made by him, the short list is Cortez, Brad, tucker, will, Det, and others just to name a few.

It is easy to forget Cortez, brad and tucker pitched in big spots last year even in Omaha but this year were virtually a non factor.

It's bothered me watching Det this year, seeing the changes made to his mechanics by NY searching for velo increase, which they found. But Ultimately ended up costing him sink and control…

And for those that wonder Evan was added to the spring roster by the head man because he threw strikes… not by the pitching coach ..

That is absolutely true about Evan. No matter how you look at it, our pitchers regressed under Yeskie. Let's hope he has the same results at LSU!

Please no on Frank Anderson. And I would be surprised if he left his current position for anything less than a head coach role.

I'm still years away from being eligible for Medicare, so I'm not old, yet. However, regardless of age, one can repeat the same stories over and over again, like an old man. That's what I'm trying to avoid.

Your story reminds me a bit of A&M's hiring of Dennis Franchione. We were hiring the head coach from Alabama, and they didn't want him to leave. It had to be a good hire, right?

I thought more of Chavis from LSU.
