IDK. I get that you wouldn't start him on Friday, Tuesday, Saturday during the regular season, but this is for a national championship, and it's a normal amount of rest for a limited use scenario.

Like Kyle Peterson stated there are more entities making the decision to throw Skenes than him or his coach. Interesting to see who makes that call. Personally I think he has done his part and he should sit, but we all know athletes who lay it all out. Like I said, going to be interesting.

Dodgers/Astros announcer just stated that Skenes will be available tomorrow "likely not starting".
I bet $1 that they mention Big Ben and 1989.
It will be a bullpen day for him on his normal schedule. Having him throw an inning or two will probably be the only way he should used. Warming up, cooling down, warming up again is not a normal bullpen routine and they should be very careful with that. He's a competitor and will want to throw, but that's where you have to be a coach and realize his future is far more important. This game turned on its head when Thompson made his 2nd mistake of the day. Unlike the 1st inning when he ran into a 3rd baseman to make a easy play he loses the transition on a fairly routine DP to end the inning. Doesn't even get a out. Strikeout then a grad slam and its off to the races for the gators. The baseball gods can only be so forgiving
Looking for a great game tomorrow. Skenes is a game time decision I bet, no matter what is said. This is the match up I expected and I hope it lives up to the billing unlike game 2. It's been a fantastic CWS!
On another note my son in law got moved up to Triple AAA today. By the way he's a AGGIE Grad, pitcher, in the Reds organization. Hoping all of y'all are pulling for him! He's a great dude.

Yep. We lost that one Super Regional game to FSU 24-9 because we were letting Wacha rest an extra day and for all intents and purposes conceding the game.Warsteiner said:AggieNattie said:

There were some bleeders/whiners on TexAgs claiming they were "embarrassed" but most people knew what the Monday game would look like, and it did.
