110 exit velocity and traveled 407 feet. Would have been out of just about every ballpark in college baseball, and this one too if he had pulled it ever so slightly. Between that, and the shortstop losing his footing in the top of the inning, really rough way to exit for TCU.agsalaska said:

It was an absolute piss missile and I think would've hit about 1/2 to 2/3 up the wall if not caught. And this despite an extremely low launch angle. Didn't see stats but I'm guessing something on the order 105+ MPH and 20 deg launch. Just another degree or two more and it's gone.agsalaska said:

Yeah, it's the CWS. Hard to take the people seriously who chime in with teams making it because of an easy draw any year, regardless of situation.jkag89 said:
Please don't pretend they had an easy draw. They put a whipping on pig twice to get that "easy" draw in the Supers.

Always one of these guys. Let's focus on the games at hand. If you want to play that stupid projection game, note that we beat Florida 2 out of 3 and came close to sweeping them.ftworthag02 said:

we were 2-1 against Florida. They are 0-1….ftworthag02 said:

I'm not bringing it up at all. You're the one who made the stupid comment. We always see bleeding like this, where someone has to thump his chest and say "So and so would have kicked our ass." That's totally irrelevant, and really dumb for you to bring up on the Omaha scoreboard thread. Let's just get back to the CWS.ftworthag02 said:
Ok let me adjust my statement. Tcu would've more than likely beat us in the post season this year. They have 2 legitimate starters and a lights out closer. Then have numerous position players that can flat out hit the ball. We didn't have one legitimate starter that could get us to 4 innings on a consistent basis. Please don't bring up that we took 2 out of 3 from florida. Tcu destroyed Arkansas

The Rangers had the same problem at old Arlington Stadium, and they could fix it at Omaha just like the Rangers did. Build a fairly tall, wrap around scoreboard all the way across the outfield. It will block the view, but it will also force the wind up and over. The backwash coming off the upper deck behind home plate would actually work to propel balls out. Would turn it from a pitchers park to something like a hitters park in an instant.CrocsAg20 said:
Omaha has done a decent job of hosting this thing throughout the years, but they really messed up with how the field was built.
It plays a lot bigger than it's dimensions because of the way it is situated, with the wind blowing in 90% of the time. The mayor was determined to set it that way for the views looking out of the outfield.
Wish they'd bring the corners in to 325, alley's at 365/370, and center at 400.

And what was the Florida fly ball to the wall the inning before?
Also would have been a HR.
It sucks so bad to lose at this level. And I was pulling for the Frogs.swimmerbabe11 said:powerbelly said:

Also, as I was bitterly turning off the broadcast so I could continue my very bad day at work, I was absolutely thinking "oh eff off, austin davis just made the exact same play in the last half inning stop acting like its the second coming"
definitely not bitter at all.
