Did we change our batting approach?

I don't recall ever seeing Schloss allow a first pitch swing. We like going deep in the count and seeing many pitches before attacking. Tonight I've noticed we are swinging early, often starting 0-2

When you're down big, you change it up.

We did hit 2 HRs in the first on 1st pitch swings, for what that's worth.

True, but they've thrown plenty of 1st and 2nd pitch strikes.

If my quick accounting is correct, 10 of Stanford's runs were scored on 9 total first pitches thrown by 3 relievers. 4 scored on Cortes' first three (ball, bases-clearing 2B followed by RBI double); Johnston gave up a 2-run HR on his third; GS came on Stewart's 3rd pitch thrown.
