Cortez threw a 100 mph cutter last night, and still gives up 1.5 hits per inning. WTH? At least he seems to be healthy.
94chem,
That, sir, was the greatest post in the history of TexAgs. I salute you. -- Dough

Definitely not arguing the post but I laughed out loud and thought of this after last night. Guess it's safe to say it happens to other coaches too.

Laughed at that as well, given all the metrics etc coaches use these days e.g. "the shift" one would think walking a hot hitter would be on the list of must do's.

Just my observation…. Our pitchers come in the first inning for most part especially the relievers and pitch good for that inning. The next they have trouble. There are exceptions but it's like they get the adrenaline rush then have a let down.

Maybe let them start the next inning a few pitches then have another reliever come in. Whatever works. If they only throw 20 pitches they could come back the next day or two?
Just an old dad who raise 3 Ags. Inherited 2 more. GIG’EM
