Don't think I've ever seen one before

I believe we had one against tceh about a decade or so ago?

We had one against #5 Mizzou on Friday night vs Aaron Crow in 08.

THAT game was wild- had it all. A robbed grand slam for the Ags. Down 8-1 in the 6th. Came flying back. Lightning delay stopped the game for a bit. Ags went into the 9th down 8-7 and ended up walking it off with a balk.

The next game we won like 15-0 and the finale was the Kyle Colligan HR into the blistering wind.

Anyone have video of the balk?

When they do, I hope they have a camera angle from the side- you can really see how Chestnut throws the pitcher off.

That Friday night balk-off is one of my top 5 Olsen memories. It completely demoralized them for the Saturday game and shut down the Mizz-ou chant the parents behind us in 206 were trying to do.

I could be wrong, but I thought we did win one before at home like that. Maybe it wasn't tceh.

You can clearly see the balk when you watch the pitcher's knees. 0

Two years later the same thing happened. Won the Friday game I believe 3-1. Then Saturday the Ags walked it off. Entered the 9th down 4-3 in a game that Stripling started and Wacha relieved in. Two future MLBers, so that's cool. A young Tyler Naquin drove in a run and scored the winner. Also, Matt Jeungel got hurt after a Mizzou runner elbowed him when running to first.

I remember Childress, Scott Arthur, and Minks all getting tossed from that game. The "Go Tigers!!" mother was MAD after the game. Though a few people may or may not have antagonized her after the game.

I remember that too.

Can someone pls explain exactly what the pitcher did to make it a balk. I am having trouble recognizing it on that video.

He twitched his left knee. Literal knee jerk reaction to Chestnut bluffing home.

This. Once the front leg begins to move, the pitcher must either go to 3rd or home. He cannot come reset. If he does, it's a balk.

That was a pretty subtle knee twitch but I'll take it.

Doesn't matter. It's clearly there. You know it's the right call, because the pitcher immediately knew what he had done. Didn't contest or argue or anything.
And 3rd base ump was all over it.

It really was. Almost looked like the wind might have caught his pant leg just a bit.

He knew. It was obvious from his face that he thought he might get away with it.

You can see Bost at 2nd raise his hands when the ball was about halfway to home. Everyone on the field knew it was a balk before the ump called it.

Was at the Saturday game. Sat in 204 and there was a bunch of Mizzou fans, mostly their version of Diamond Darlings (which wasn't bad) but had a very loud student. Was getting on my nerves early. But by the later innings with it being an absolute blowout, he was rather quiet and pretty agreeable to sit near. Turned out to be a cool guy.

Oh. Was there for that!

Minks getting tossed was GREAT!

You could also tell that all our players and our coaches saw it immediately as well. It's pretty quick if you don't know what you're looking for you would miss it.
