Brauny now says: Minnich will be out for awhile, like maybe miss the rest of the season.

I really, really, really hate that for the kid.

That sucks.

5 SEC losses in a row, and now we must win 5 of last 8 to make the postseason. Absolutely must at least split the next two and of course much prefer to just win this series anyway.

This team has no business being in the postseason. Not like we deserve it or would get out of any regional anyway.

Not much baseball IQ here. Nor an understanding of baseball history either.

5 IP, 81 pitches, 4 Rs. Most promising outing in a long time.

Not bad. I will take that. Now we just need someone to sack up and give us 5+ innings.

Some of the better pitching we've seen this season from the Aggie staff is refreshing. Had Minnich been in the lineup and catching short home runs in RF and not going 0'fer like the backups did, then we may have gotten the W. That said, same old-same old with batters continually failing to capitalize on opportunities and that monkey appears to be unshakable. When you consider that we have only two .300 hitters on this squad (with LaViolette threatening), it's no surprise that we are going to finish near the bottom of the league. Schloss needs to seriously evaluate that in the off-season.

Bost and Targac are past the point where they just need a hot weekend to turn the corner. Their confidence is shot. With Minnich out those two hitting 5 and 6 in the lineup both south of .230 with no pop this year throws sand in our offense's gears.

2023 baseball is a prime example of why you cannot simply assume that a player with experience will improve (or even maintain their performance) from one season to the next.

Every athlete needs to prove it every season. It's hard to have veteran leadership on a team when the veterans regress.

Let this be a cautionary lesson for our young football team as well.

I know the bottom line is results but Bost has hit into a lot of bad luck and he has a very good walk/strikeout ratio. In other words, it is not his approach at the plate that has lead to disappointing season.

I've got a little baseball knowledge and experience…and have followed Aggie bb for over 5 decades. I'm no expert by any means but know what I see.

Btw, this year's team isn't much like last years team in case you're clinging to that.

You have no idea how much I hope I'm wrong.

This weekend is a big opportunity for us. Taking two would do us a lot of good. Not even going to contemplate a sweep.
You guarantee me 2 wins and I'll kiss you on the mouth...
