A lot of you are overreacting too much. All that matters is that we win 2/3 every weekend, which is exactly what we did. We've gone 2/3 the past 3 weekends. Yes most of us want a sweep, but I think today's game was a bit meaningless.
I think we're on pace to make a regional, which 3 weeks ago looked iffy at best. However, you're kidding yourself if you think the rest of the way is going to be anything but very difficult and taking 2 out of 3 more than maybe twice is improbable. Consider:
-- UK has won all their conference games at home (only 1 loss overall)
-- We'll know more after today or tomorrow, but Arkansas has played a similar SEC schedule to us and won all their series except for one (LSU)
-- Florida has also played similar opponents to us and won all their series
-- Unlike us, Bama has managed to avoid a sweep even though they've played some good teams so far
The game plan is the same: avoid (losing) sweeps at all cost and try to steal the series against Florida. Maybe Kentucky wasn't all that great and their early SEC record was due to a softer schedule than others played. A series win against them would do wonders for us. But at the end of the day, I don't see a sweep in the cards with our pitching, and for the same reason, I doubt we get out of a regional, so let's just enjoy the rest of the year and see what happens.
Maybe half the SEC programs will have to cancel their season! Never know. (Obviously, not)
