I am pulling for LSU all the way because of my experience there.

These people were great. Everyone around me was friendly, talkative, and polite.

One person offered us tickets for Monday's game, but other than that...everyone was great.

And go to Phil's Oyster Bar; I had the best Shrimp Po Boy there and I loved the beer selection at The Chimes.

I loved Baton Rouge as well... minus the outcomes of the game I couldn't have asked for a better trip. I'll share my take on the weekend, first the only real complaint I had then the good:

I think the Box is a dump, but I do like the fact that seats go around to the outfield. It's a little cramped and was hot, there wasn't a whole lot of room between the rows (in the Grandstand anyway) and the rows were long so you had to constantly get up for people. Plus, they don’t really have a between innings rule, but by and large the fans did wait till there wasn't anything going on.

Their fans are good baseball fans. The fact that they weren't a whole lot of students that i noticed was disappointing and the fact that the majority of their cheering was led by two people was disappointing as well, but they could get loud and for the most part knew when to be loud. Walking up on Saturday we had one guy yell at us... "HEY AGGIES," i just kept walking expecting some smart ass comment he yelled at us again so I turned around and he got stood up and yelled "WHAT COMES OUT OF A CHINA MAN'S ASS?" That drew a pretty good cheer from anyone in hearing range. After the game on Sunday they were very congratulatory, several people came up and just wanted to express how sad they were that someone had to lose.

The only real jerkish comment came when someone offered me game 3 tickets. I looked at him and just sarcastically said sure I'll take him. They started laughing and we talked for a few minutes then they let me have some whiskey out of their bottle to help ease the pain.

I ended up sitting next to an LSU fan for both the games, we talked pretty much the whole time, after both games he invited us to go out with him and his friends, gave us directions around town, and suggestions on where to eat/what to do in BR.

All in all I had a really great time and respect their fans and what they have there.

(Edited to make sense)

Between innings rule? You must really be dreaming if you think that exists at Olsen.

I had a great time too, except for my view of home plate. If I leaned forward and to the right I could see it.

I went to the 1995 regional at Coral Gables, and their fans are worse than Horn fans. I hate Miami.

Geaux Tigers!

Baton Rouge was an experience. Our group that went together had a blast! The 12th Man Foundation had a reception for Aggies in town at the Sheraton which had great food and drink for us both days before the games. There are some great Ags out there that love all of us younger Ags and I met a few of them on this trip. Strike out guy was my favorite person to finally meet.
Geaux Tigers got old after the first game. But I must give them credit. I've been to games where no one supports their teams. It's refreshing that two people can get the crowd going, and so loud. We brought our Olsen Field routines with us. Did the War Hymn with the few Ags around us and tried to do the Rifleman but it wasn't so great.
We had two great nights at the hotel partying and a great seafood dinner. We met a few LSU fans who gave us their purple and gold beads there. I like beads. Very kind of them.
Oh yah. And we met Cory Patton and John Infante at the Sheraton Sunday night. Nice guys.
I can't wait til next season! WHOOP!
